heya guys. i just put these 2 to the test.

and to be honest i cant really see any difference in the quality in the pics they take.

heres the pros & cons.
==============================
Nokia Camera

PROS -
Images are smaller (half the size of photographers but same quality)
already on phone so ur saving 400+ kb of memory.
loads up quicker and works quicker than photographer

CONS -
lack of functions
LOL thats its ;)

==============================
Photographer v2.2

PROS -
nice set of functions to play with ie. the PANORAMIC function. good for views etc.
MASKS (my opinion waste of space as ur not gonna use them hardly

CONS -
Takes up alot of space (400+ kbs)
ZOOM function (whats the point its sh*t quality anyway and gets worse the more u zoom)
ENHANCEMENTS - LOL i do not see any enhancements to the photo whatsoever
MASKS (waste of space)
IMAGE SIZE (twice the size of Nokia's Camera images yet the same quality)
can't think of any more at the moment

Lol can any of you see my point if the prog was like 100kb at least or the option to NOT install the MASKS etc.
and c'mon how many of u agree that the ZOOM sux b@lls

Cheers
Xavier

I've tested both the Photographer and the CameraFX sad to say but both does not do anything to change the quality of the actual picture... If you are using the Photographer at Excellent setting it takes around 50 - 70Kb of space... i guess it is larger... as far as i know the larger the bytes the better the resolution of the picture..
But using the photographer nothing seem to change...
I think nokia has to change the CMOS imaging to CCD which is better in picture quality .. unless they use the higher integrated CMOS chip... but i guess this will be more expensive than that of the CCD chip

LOL my ass.

Check both images and check the borders of the poster.
The Nokia photo seems kinda roundy, doesn't it?
Take a look at the photographer pic. It takes the barrel effect off.

As for the zoom function, it's useful if you wan't to take closeup photos. You can't really put the camera very near to the object photographed.

But imho the default nokia photographer is still better, because it's much faster. Best to have both though.

I have about 350 pics, all taken with just the regular camera... And many of the are pretty good actually...

i don't like camerafx and photographer... both zoom function sucks.

dunno why my girlfriend likes using the MASK in photographer on her 3650... it sucks!

i've uninstalled mine... both apps are space hungry especially photographer.

Wtf? The zoom function on photographer is actually VERY good!

Have you tested to actually take the pictures - not just look at the screen - the picture is made a lot clearer once the picture is taken.

Exactly...zoom actually is better w/ 2.2 over 2.0...

Here is a zip file w/examples: (1.jpg-Nokia camera, 2.jpg-Photographer, 3.jpg-Photographer @ 1600% zoom)

As for the quality of each...decide for yourselves...

(I believe you need to wait for moderator acceptance of file)

i cant notice the barrel effect but the rounded bit is the paper.
but if ur sayin that thats the only difference then its a bit stupid as that must be the extra 25kbs lol

cheers

its like a game actually, i tiled the windows horizontally to see them at the same time, and compare

If you compare photographer pics with normal nokia pics on a PC screen you'll notice that photographer uses a lower colour-depth than the nokia software. Darker colours look dreadful.

The zoom function is the only decent thing about it imo.

Whats wrong with half you people..... Photographer is really good.... Camera FX sucks i agree but photographer..? Come on guys.. I think the zoom quality is very good.... and the panorama function is awesome, if you use it properly then you get groovy stuff....
As for the picture space, it doesn't really bother me coz i just copy all my pics to my pc whenever i get an opportunity...
Cheers

i do not have photographer, but after a good look at your pics:
nokia camera has a better quality, you can see the details of the wood and holes in front brake are a lot clearer...
the vanished barrel effect is IMHO,just a matter of position.if you stare at the images, you can notice that photografer one,was taken a bit closer and on the right.
at least is what i think.
see by yourself.

Well Photographer is nice, only i think CAMER FX is better it has tons of functions on it, just 4 fun offcourse, like the Psycodelic mode or the 4 mirror mode
The only thing the programs lacks i quality, and i think that's becuase your phone has to make all these calculations when using an option so the qualtity(resolution) goes down.

And well the Standard camera program of the 7650 is a laugh it has no functions whatsoever except that you can make "night" photos.

So i go for Camera FX.
But i like to see photographer again i had it on my phone an few months ago but i assume there is a NEW version out for it, anyone a has the NEWEST version in his group???

And for HOLLE18 , did you know you can change to resolution(quality) of your photo?
All your pictures are 512 X 384 , that's medium quality change it to High and u have 640 X 48!!!

3650 camera is the best... can say best among P800, GD88, samsung v200.., if you got space on the memory, is good to try Photographer, it zoom function better than Camera FX( ithink).

You may get it at http://kickme.to/S60Island.

What about taking pictures at night or at less light. I think that Flexicam is the best for "night vision".

I have v3.13 on my N3650. Will installing Photographer 2.02 affect the pic quality of the Original Camera app? does photographer use the original cam app to enhance the image taken by it? thanks!
