I hear so much about problems with certain bluetooth adapters and Infared adapters for use with the 7650. Can anyone out there suggest a good bluetooth or IR adapter that works well with 7650's and Nokias PC Suite....???
I seriously need to find a quicker and cheaper way of transfering files to and from my phone... email costs a fortune, but I want to make sure im buying an adapter that works.
Oh, and don't do what I did and buy a data cable.. they are useless with PC Suite and Logomanager.

I've used both bluetooth and infrared. Bluetooth is slightly unpredictable and often loses connect. Strangely, i've found infrared working faster than bluetooth on my system. I get a 115200 bps connect with infrared. The connect is stable and never gives way. With that speed, i'm able to transfer a 1 mb file in 2 mins and under. I use a Bafo V6102F infrared device. Much cheaper than bluetooth.

er...before ya'll go and buy that Bafo V6102F, you should know about a problem i encountered with it. After installing the correct drivers for it, I used to get SHODDY 9600 bps connects. And it would take me about 10-15 tries to get linked up with that. I actually thought it may be a nokia problem. The solution lies in changing the transceiver type to 6101E from the default 6102F. It started working like a dream after this. It works so well and fast that I dont even want to tweak and poke around with bluetooth anymore :D
Hope this helps !

i have both bafo irda and d-link usb bluetooth and from my opinion, both kinda transfer datas slow. irda connection kinda sucks because you gotta beam the irda to the ir port on your phone while the blue tooth range anything around 2 feet (from the point) and with a cheap 10.00 usd card reader i can transfer 40 to 60 mb in less than 1 min :D

Thats ok, but how would you use a card reader for this application?

Well i've got a belkin bluetooth USB adapter, and i'm extremely happy it... The initial setup had a bit of a hitch, but after that it was all easy sailing... I mean i've aslso got an infra red in my laptop so i've compared both and bluetooth is the way to go..
It's an emerging technology and problably will be implemented much more than infra red will be in the near future...
no more line of sight shit required...
Cheers
