5210 strange problemm?flash

Hi.
I have strange problemm with 5210. After flashing with rolis 478 if become dead.
Now it still can be flashed with full flash dump but still dead. I used working flash file from working phone,still dead after successfull flash.
Before I did many times it was okey. Maybe flash ic get damaged by flasher this time? For 3310 I had such a problemm then I changed flash ic,then worked. But 5210 give me idea.

Not strange at all Old rolis flasher always seem to kill 5210 and 3610 I used Knok to recover them also the new rolis (attached) works well.

Ok the message might not be to clear Use the attached Rolis to re-flash your phone that should fix it if not use knok.

How about edited flash file? I've tried using knok but I am heading the same problem that the phone was dead. It work well using knok and full backup flash files althought it was full backup flash file from the rollis. I think the rollis can't handle this 5210 well.

thats what I learned after big time of trying with 5210
1-don't try to flash the MCU section with any version of rolis this will make your fone not to turn on but don't be scared it will be flashable
2-you can use rolis to read the fone flash or flash PPM or EEProm safely
3-any way use knok is a bit slow but it is working fine

@tedjo..i think you made something wrong because I have successfully modded my 5210 (my file is in 5XXX section) but my advise is don't try to change the flash file version informations that appears when pressing *#0000# because if so knok will not detect the fone after that and will report can't prepare fone

yeah the new rolis worked for me I update my 5210 from 5.22 to 5.25 with (wintesla files) and also I used it flash a modded flash (ringtone added) back to the phone after reading it with it.

lesson i learned is this. never flash a 5210 with rolis. always flash 5210 with knok. i think knok is much much better a flasher than rolis when it comes to flashing 5210. although knok takes much longer to flash write, your unit will be much safer.:D :D :D but it goes differently! some may have flashed 5210 with rolis and with knok. but when it comes to 5210, use knok. :-D :-D :-D

i tried flashing a 5210 using rolis and i killed it

had to have the flash chip replaced

i now use the same soft and flashes and i have no problems

must be some dogey chips!!!!

yes 5210 that made by Nokia can't stand the flashing progress...flash chip is made in china:D

When switch on the phone display show “contact service”
I have try to flash my 5210 several times with Rolis 4.77,4.78,4.79,4.79b & Knok. But doesn’t work.
Please someone help me.

contact service means there is some thing wrong in the flash file MCU or PPM
flash a new one but before flashing it use g3n0lite to kill the flash check FAID and then choose to fix all checksums

i think your rolis settings are too fast?
check out the options and try to slow down a little bit.

options|setup(ctrl-s)|other|lpt setup
increase it, if your flash contains errors or you can't run this sw.

i'm not sure about this, but using it in normal 2 may cause your problems. try change to 4, it will be slower, i think it increase delay between blocks (knok has longer delay).

i haven't flashed 5210, but i would like to know if this will help.
(i can't flash 5110 with rolis, only with knok so this may be needless message, if 5210 acts same way as 5110)

If you want to flash 5210 using rolis just do that
1-Use rolis 479
2-prepare your flash file by KILLING its FAID using g3n0lite
3-open rolis and select OPEN and browse to your flash file
4-press on the DOWN ARROW (copy binary buffer to ppm buffer)
5-the Flash button will be active press on it and go on the flashing process...

Works 100% with me several times ;)

I have re hot my 5210 flash chip it is dead now. Cannot switch on the phone.
