Is it possible to upgrade the memory on your nokia 7650? I am runing dangerously low on memory and would do anything to get more! Yes I do have a compression programme but its not enough. Thanx in advance -=UtseenO=-

I've seen this thread posted tonnes of times.... lol.... NO you can't upgrade the memory on your 7650, thats basically one of the reasons why the 3650 gets ahead of the 7650...
Hey a while ago i heard some rumours about a bluetooth enabled external hard drive....? Does anyone know anything about it...?
Cheers

I don't think nokia or any other third party manufacturer will ever offer a memory upgrade for the 7650, but I think that, theoretically, it's possible. I guess if they (Nokia) really wanted to (which I'm sure they don't) upgrade the memory module of the 7650 they could. They could offer a 8mb or 16mb memory upgrade, but to do so, I guess they have to remove the on board memory module and replace it with a larger capacity memory module. But I don't think it will ever happen, I'm just saying it's possible to upgrade the memory of the 7650 if the manufacturers wish to do it.
yyup...i think there is no such service avil for the time being...
i think we should wait for 7650i to come out!!LOL!

Just buy a new phone with a memory card expansion slot, I think it's much simpler that way. By opening your phone and tampering with the components inside you will surely void your warranty, in the event that you wreck your phone, it might cause you an arm and a leg to have it fixed. Although I am a loyal nokia user, you might want to check out the new smart phones manufactured by HTC, it has a windows based operating system, 32mb on board memory, mmc expansion slot, and comes with a camera and a cradle for synching. It really looks promising, there's also an external keyboard for it (but you can't use it yet with the smartfone, I think an upgrade in the phone's rom is needed to use the keyboard).
Check it out.

It could be but
Toshiba didn't provide a specific release date except to say it expected to commercialize the technology in the first half of 2002

There's been a lot of talk lately about bluetootn hard drives, I don't know of any company that has released one but I'm sure there will be one available soon (that's just my opinion). But the big question is, how much would they cost? another factor to consider is, is it possible to watch videos, play games, use applications in real time using this bt hard drive? I strongly doubt it (again, this is just my opinion), I think they're only good for storing data, not running them (games, programs, videos) in real time.
What do you think? please feel free to comment.

Don't think thtat will be posible. that hard drive shoiuld be for storage purpose only. Fone memory would need something to recognise the external memory, and to run things from there.
At least now we'll have almost unlimited space for videos and pictures.

This is a card... USB type... doesn't specify storage capacity... works with power from USB port...so i think it's not for storage!
Not of much help for us!!!
AND Symbian is not supported..
But it still would be great, even if only for storage, mp3's, jpg's and other data consume a lot of precious k's.
