Question for Flash-guru's

What's the story on flashing (I've never flashed a phone in my life), I understood it this far; it contains the OS and stuff to make your phone work.
But my question is: can you actually alter the content of a flash-file?
The underlaying thought is to put al personal ringtones, wallpapers and some settings in to this file (and leave other crap out), so you would save space.
This idea came to me because I deleted the default images, which are still displayed when selected in a profile (??).

Also, what do I need for flashing (cables, software, etc.), and what's it gonna cost?

yesy ou can add and delte certain things, there are lots of differetnt programs floating on the forum!

i suggestest obtaiing th cables needed first so you can backup etc.

Hej,

No for nokia DCT4 (also 7650) you are not able to change things in the flash.
You are able to upload ringtones etc but you cannot change anything in the flah in the way you mean it.

Flash modding is only possible in Nokia DCT3.
(and siemens a little bit)
