View Full Version : Mystery of the d: drive...
Last day I went to a wedding and some many pics were shot with my 7650. I was running short of memory so I cut/pasted some of them in the d: folder. After restarting the phone...no pics in there...vanished all! + I tried again + the same happened!Any idea?

maybe because D: is the RAM memory!
When fone is turned off, RAM memory is deleted.
Though i seem to always have the same file in there!!!

Hmmm.... From what you've told me i have a feeling that the D:| drive is a Ram drive of the Cellphone... You know like it kinda stores the contents of the RAM on it.... SO when you restart your phone (like the computer) the RAM get's cleaned...
Maybe someone else can offer a more technical answer...???
Cheers....

the d drive is the ram drive, ram is memory held in a state of electrical energy, when the fone is switched off the there is no electricity so this is also lost
hope that answers your question
Thanx a lot guys... I always thought of d: as a little extra storage place. Hungry for memory always! :)
ya...we the citizens of 7650 users are always HUNGRY for memory..!!

There are some 256 MB's on market (I have one) but the prob is, it seems, that only at firmware 3.x this cards will be working.
My adice is: Dont buy that card, before you have an upgrade.
Some continents, like Afrique or Asian has 3.03, but not available in Europe, yet. And no informations from Nokia, how it come.
