Does anyone know how to make a ringtone have vibration effects?

Cause I would like to add some effects into the midi's that I make, you know similar to the default tones that come with Nokia phones.

Cheers

Every ringtone vibrates automatically. Although it does not vibrates in the tones section or the gallery section but it automatically vibrates when set as a ringtone. You don't have to make any extra efforts. PC Suite 5.1's Sound converter tells you which channels give vibrating effects.

I know that about vibrating, but this is a default vibrate, and not a custom vibrate as you get with the default tones in the Gallery.

Is there a way of making my own tones vibrate where I chose them to vibrate?

Cannot get PC Suite 5.1 Sound converter working on my laptop either, so any chance of letting us know what it says in regards to vibrating channels?

What problem do you have in having PC Suite 5.1 to work on your laptop?

It just won't work with my DKU-5 Cable, so won't let me use the software.

Hi :)
There is a software acvailable called "Anvil Studio" which allows to create or alter midi files. It can be downloaded for free, is a unrestricted freeware and excellent. It shows the "vibration" in a ringtone as an instrument named "telephone ring" and via that way, you can also add this vibration into a ringtone. I tried that myself, it works. Just can't remember who gave ME the hint with that program.... search Google for it :) Good luck!

Cheers for that mate ;)

For anyone else interested, you can download the software by clicking here (http://www.anvilstudio.com/mstudioZ.exe)

File Size 3.2MB

Just downloaded the software and tried it out, didn't vibrate though, just gave an actual telephone ring :)

It plays a telephone ringing sound on the computer, but in the phone it vibrates... at least in mine 6610..... i tested that with the "Acceleration" tone which i could bring to vibrate non-stop with this method... didn't try another, though. I will try with one that's got no vibration at all today in the evening (now i am at the office)... will post result tomorrow, i promise.

Yess exactly... my angel from India! That program is since long the best piece of software which came into my computer... i am downloading and testing a load of programs and i never delete any even i don't use them... heck i got around 450 applications installed, i think my windows registry must be 2 gigabytes alone. I got a partition c: which is only for windows and it's programs, and i got some 9.4 gigabytes of data in there... not any data, not even a page file (sit's on partition d:) and still, his Anvil is one of the most usefull i have :)
Again thank you thousand times, Yjagota!

@viper

I tested the program yesterday evening again and found out that: It is possible to MODIFY an existing vibration track in a ringtone ("telephone ring") by adding/deleting some of the track. But if you add such a track to a ringtone which previously didn't have vibration, it does NOT work, the phone then can not open the file. I keep on with that... hope to find a way soon. I'll keep you posted :)
Cheers...

I don't know that why isn't any information available for phone's ring vibration. Nokia should provide that. Well I have'nt got to see any ring which does'nt vibrates. Many does not vibrate in gallery or tones section but all of them do vibrate when they are set as ring tones. Well if any of you find any such info, sure tell me, because i'm real good in sound editing. ;-)

I've looked at the "MIDI_in_nokia_phones_v1_3.pdf" and noticed that the vibration track must be #125 (Telephone Ring) and it also appears that it must be in channel 7 to be recognized. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Using Anvil Studio, I duplicated the bass track of a midi song, altered the instrument to #125 (Telephone Ring), and then moved it to channel 7. This still does not work! I get a ringing tone for that track instead of vibration. Can anyone explain this? What am I, and others missing?

NOTE:
I'm using a Nokia 3595. Here's an interesting note!!!! My friend has the 3590 and all the songs I have edited/created [without a #125 (Telephone Ring) ] actually seem to vibrate on his phone!!! yet they don't on my phone!? Confusing to me.

first of all you need to download psmplay http://www.samsunghandphones.com

download mmf files (samsung format) open psmplay, open track then click on the red record button and save it(my docs or something)now it will be saved as a midi file.Don't download midi files as the vibration does not work.

Now you need to download MIDIscale
http://www.mmsguru.com

open track you saved in my docs or something
click on the box on the left hand side showing all the different instruments,a box on the right side with vibration tick to enable vibration for each instrument that you want.

now open nokia suite and preview tune, you now can change sound setting here if you want to.Now just download to the phone:-D

this software is freaking cool man! i tried with my midi tones straight away (didnt bother trying mmf). eventhough its not that easy to use and i had to tweak the midis a litle in Nokia Sound Converter after it, it actually works!! and best of all its free for personal use.

i've converted 3 so far, looks like i'll be up all night 'vibrating' my midis, lol:p:p

thanks for the info zaz-1!
