not usually, what phone do you have? if its a DCT3 then you can get the software online, on forum somewhere (rolis DCT3 flasher) and buy a standard dejan flasher. however if your phone is a newer DCT4 model you will need to buy a special flasher (look at the top of this page, 120 euros), the software is also probably available on this forum.

DCT3, buy a dejan flasher and use a tool called rolis dct3 flasher, also you will need rolis nokiatool. I warn you that it can be a complicated process reflashing your phone, you will need all of the new flash files MCU,PPM and EEPROM to make sure your phone is absolutely clean and bug free. you WILL lose all of your contacts in your phonebook and any saved ringtones and operator logos, these are all held within your EEPROM which does not necessarily need to be replaced but I find that it is more reliable to replace this.
You should read the forum and find out a little about flashing before you start as its like surgery, one wrong move and you kill your phone. also, what is wrong with your current software? does it need to be replaced? if it is not absolutely necessary then I'd not even bother, you wont gain any new features and you probably wont notice the difference.
