The only information you can transfer/read with a card reader would be whatever information you have on the MMC. That would be it.

Yeah, thats right. With a card reader you cannot acces the phone memory. But this is very important.
Basicly you need first an IR or BT Dongle, and if you want transfer big files to the phone (MP3's, Videos) than you can by a card reader additionally.
Short final note: "IR/BT is a must, card reader a nice to have.

Why do you say an ir/bluetooth adapter is a must. I ask this because i use only a mmc reader and i have never needed an ir or bluetooth adapter. So my response to your question is yes you only need a mmc reader.

Actually once you have a File Manager Program installed on your phone then all you need is a MMC card reader... B'cuz without a File manager no way you can install programs on your phone when it's in the MMC..

@ kooldude536:
One argument is, the "bug" from Nokia, to place the MMC card under the battery. Therefore: If you have to copy a small file to the phone, you must shut down the phone, take the battery away, take the MMC out, copy to it with the card reader and than the same game backward: MMC put in, battery put in, boot the phone again. What is, if you need a file 10 minutes later? The same procedere as everytime?
No, thank, not with me!
Look to the beta model SX1 from Siemens. These ingeneers are most clever. You have only push a small knob and the MMC card going out from a slut at the side of the body (oh, boy, what an english, sorry). In this case you have no to take off the phone and the copy case with the MMC reader is going fast. This is ok.
But not with the bad Nokia solution, sorry.

Since you have Efile manager your all set just transfer your files from phone to MMC and that's it.... In my case I have both the IRDA and MMC card reader. I tend to use the IRDA more tho but when I need to transfer big files and I want it fast then I use the MMC reader. Sometimes I hate going through the process of removing the battery and mmc then putting it back... This is just my opinion... The cables are not that expensive anyway... Oh I would also recommend the PQI Card Reader it works great...

Hi everyone,
I have a PDA that i use as a card reader and am a little hesitant between buying a IRDA cable or a BT dongle. I'd like to know how you install your apps via the cardreader.
Where should I copy the *.SIS file so that Manager can see and install them?

You need a File Manager installed on your phone 1st before you can install .SIS or .JAR files. Basically d/l a FILE MANAGER software from a WAP site 1st then you can access your MMC... Without a FILE MANAGER no way you can install programs... You can play mp3's and watch videos though w/o a FILE MANAGER...
