dodgy 3310 problem

i have a 3310 in my hands, software 4.16, it wont switch on sometimes.

to get it to switch on you give it a whack on the back onto something hard like a piece of wood. and it will switch on when u press the switch.

then it can switch off hours later and wont come back on without a firm whack. then sometimes its fine, works as it should.

i have tried the pcb in a different chassis with all new compoments and still no change. i have tried new battery also still acts the same.

i have treated it for water damage.

anyone have any ideas on what it could be and how i can fix this problem.

It looks like it might be your power switch m8 by the sounds of it.

um... im not too sure... u always seem to have to hit the battery area. i have tried different batterys and i am not sure on what this cud b :(

I've experienced a similar problem.. Sometimes my phone turns off just by taking off the back over while it is still on, or it says "Insert SIM". The clip that I use on my flash cable is rather tight fitting, so it's probably dislodged something or kinda pushed something out of place.

They way I worked around it was to GENTLY bend up the battery terminal strips, because they would have been pushed in due to the tight flashing clip. And that seems to have done some good and it works without turning off by itself.

i have pissed around with it a bit and got it so it dont swtich off but still dont switch on that good, sometimes u have to give it a whack on the back (mainly battery area) so i replaced the battery connecter block still no change. i replaced the chager block still no luck, but if you place the handset without covers (screen into palms of hands first) and whack the back lightly it will turn on and sometimes turn on with out the need to touch the switch :S.

The power button is shorcircuiting!!! Solder the button off, and replace! Or even replace it with another one!!! Post results!!!;)
