Hi,
I own a brazilian manufactured Nokia 8260 (sw version: V 06.22 21-02-02 NSW-4, CSD ver 376.03.0). I am in Brazil as well
I would like to know how can I find out my local operator SOC (the SOC I am currently connected to) and the Country Code as well. Is there a list for all world operators' SOC & Country Code?
These informations seem to be needed in case I wish to change my alpha tag. If someone knows how to change it from "HOME" to anything else, I would appreciate to hear.
Thanks!

search for SOC list on google. There is one somewhere but it is by no means complete. You can probably find country codes too. The best thing you can do is look for a phone from the same provider and copy those details.

My friend, as far as I know, the brazilian cellular operators doesn´t work with SOC codes. It doesn´t matter in brazilian phones.
To change your alphatag, you´ll need wintesla (nokia service sw) and the dll´s of 8260.

To be possivel to receive the name from the operator for AIR, or to edit alpha tag for the cellular one, as well as having the menu call way, and Selecting system public, vc needs to configure the IRDB (inteligent roaming database), and to select the band "ab". I bought one 8260 in U.S.A. of the Cingular recently, it came stopped with SOC Lock, and I made you vary changes using wintesta 2003, and nokiasoc2. Also now it receives the name from the operator. He uses the annexed archive, with wintesla q functions, the other is pra nokiasoc. I used it.
In case that he wants, I more have handle for 8260 that not necessary, I sell it for R$60,00.
