Well, is there a route planner, WITHOUT the GPRS!!
So you dont have to connect (and save some mony).

????

Well what i like to have, is just a stand alone route planner..
witch i can use without anny conection.

Off course, you need the map of your countrey....
And maybe an option to update your maps...

That's what I mean. MAybe I'm wrong, but would GPS not be needed if you wanted to operate it without a connection such as GPRS? I mean, how would they pull a stand alone program without GPS off? Maps of every street and city in the world? Sure thing. Just buy a 12,000 GB memory card or something......... :-P

Yes off course, but it coud also be posible to update the nesesery maps at home ;)

Well, what about something like Pocket streets on Ipaqs. All you have to do is download the maps of the citys you want which are only about 1 meg each, and your in business.

I'm still not entirely clear on how the program would work though. How would the phone detect your location (I know there's miniGPS, but that uses cell signals. How would these work with maps?)

I get ya now. A program that would allow you to view the maps as files. Like pictures, but with scrolling and zooming.

I got some german maps for the 3650 but they must be cracked first, else you cant zoom out of the map.

Couldn't you just find maps for the pc, then view them using repligo?

there's one for portuguese maps, cityhelp, which provides standalone maps or the main cities and the option to use a gps...its cool!

I had a closer look at the ok map file, it's not an sis it's only a jar. It's only about 30kb in size so i doubt it'll have a detailed world map :lol: I'll upload it to johnnys second group and anyone that wants it can get it from there.

This looks like a sweet app. Im thinking that if you buy the other route planner software for the pc, you can upload maps to your phone of customized cities.
