8250 help

[Mr 7650]

I need help. My friend bought a nokia 8250, it seems to have no signal with whatever sim card is put into it. Does this mean its locked or stuffed up? It also seems to heat up on the screen. Anyone have ideas please help.

Regarding the signal problem try updating FAID, if that doesn't work maybe it's barred or has a hardware fault!

I would try changing the IMEI of the phone and unlocking/updating FAID!
