Hello, could someone please help me with a problem I have encountered with my sisters Nokia 6610.

Problem is that it keeps on turning itself off if someone either tries to call or text message. It'll ring maybe once or twice... stop... then show a "Battery needs charging..." message and then turn itself off. I checked the battery status and it says 71%.

She's had the phone for about 2 months now and it's been working perfectly until the other day after I decided I'd upload some games onto it for her (same ones I have on my 7210).

I am stumped as to what the problem could be... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello :)
How did you check the "battery status"???? Are you sure it wasn't "memory status"?
Did you try charging the battery? See the battery graphs on the right side of the display. What you describe looks like a empty battery, maybe it's damaged.
Please advice me on this "battery status" thing... thanks in advance :)

Hi there, I used Oxygen Phone Manager to check the battery status. And on the phone the graph on the side has about 4 bars on it... we did run out of memory as I was uploading a game, but then we just deleted all the images and a few ringtones to get the memory back.

Could it be a firmware error ??? But then why would it just happen only after I uploaded the games ??? Or as you said maybe the battery itself ???

Arrgh... I'm so lost

Hmm i am lost here, too...... but try to take out the battery, put it back in and charge it. See if it still happens then.... it is really strange.......
Sorry that i can't be of more help........

Try this:
Menu >> Settings >> Restore Factory Settings.

BACKUP FIRST.

Secondly, tell me how much memory your memory status shows.

I think that "Restore Factory Settings" did the trick... I checked the memory and it has 521kb free.

But yeah, after resetting, so far so good...

Thanks Dude.
