Hello :)
Having a 6610 v4.18, and today it behaved strange, i want to know if that might be serious and i need to start saving $ for the service, or it's maybe a one-time glitch.
The phone was in use the past 3 days, having made calls and send a heck of a lot of SMS. The battery thus dropped to 5 bars (from 7). Just half hour ago i made a call, approx. 3 minutes, and the phone started beeping and displayed "battery low".
I thought "can't be", turned it off, removed the battery, put it back in and fired up the phone. It now showed 4 bars. Ok, i thought. Just 5 mins later i found the phone being off, and could not turn on. I tried multiple times, also taking off and re-inserting the battery, didn't help.
I then used a battery from the 6510 which is the same size but thicker, and the phone started right up. I turned it off again, re-inserted the original and also, it fired up straight away, showing 4 bars, but only to shutdown immediately. Once again it couldn't start.
Then i connectyed a charger, and it started charging. I started it up (w/o problems) and disconnected the charger... now it's got the 4 bars again, and is on since then (about 25 minutes) with no further trouble, also made 4 test-calls to an idle phone i have sitting here.... it didn't shut down again.
Is this a serious thing? Anyone ever had that before? May it happen again???
Just in case, does anyone have a flash file for an ASIAN 6610 (don't know what the language pack is called, it includes english, thai, and two different chinese). Any version is ok, 4.18 or up, not below. I don't care for the light bug, just want to have some sort of backup if i really need to flash it.
Thank you guys in advance.......
Cheers from Bangkok

Hi my dear friend,
This is normal as Li-ion (Lithium) batteries store the main charge current in the main cells or should I say starting cells. So Even at times if the battery meter shows 4 or 5 cells, the battery is actually fully drained. This is no problem and you don't need to change your firmware for that. :) This problem is also not a recurring one but happens once in a while after a few complete discharge cycles.
Chill up...Nothing is wrong with your phone or it's battery...:)

Hey thank you so much.....
I was just too puzzled yesterday when that happened as i never had like that before. It is since then working fine... over night i charged it, and it functions as usual... i suspected maybe the battery at fault, and i will get a new one as a "backup" anyway..... but still, it would be good to have a flashfile handy when needed :)
Maybe i'll strike in the lottery (hard when i don't play... but who knows... maybe i'll find a ticket) and then get a 7250i anyway :) I will see if this problem occurs again, at least i will then have another battery :)
Hey Yjagota... i start liking you more and more :) You're nice guy......

Hmmm... I'm having the similar problems as well.....the batt level just drops when turn my phone on and off again. Its like whenever i want a more accurate batt level reading, i have to turn the phone on and off again.

Hi again :)
Maybe some Nokia's have a little bug regarding the battery level reading? I had this with my 6510, v4.06.... It showed seven bars almost for 4 days even when i used the phone heavily, and when it in the morning, after turning on, showed only six, i knew already that it won't make the day... because it is like this: 7-6 bars = 4 days, 6-1 bars = 2 hours :)
My 6610 did now reach 2, as i have been using it all the time since monday, making a lot of calls, and also sending approx. 20 SMS per day, most of them long ones..... and also playing games and/or listening radio on the way to work (1 1/2 hours per one way on public transport... i can't wait for my car to come back from the garage!).... the "bug" or whatever it was did not re-occur. I will keep the phone on now untill it turns itself off (this one don't really like to do that... amazing, reaching one bar and start beeping, but still stands up for at least 5-6 hours...) and then charge it with a "normal" charger (at home i use a quick charger). Oh i wish i had netmonitor running on it... i love that feature :) Can nicely control the battery......
Cheers....
Thanh

PS @Yjagota.... thank you so much!
