Hi everyone, im a newbie and i have a question........ I have just brought a nokia 6610 and the data cable and downloaded a great program called psmplay which converts any music form to midi, even mmf files however im have a great problem finding any free midi files that i can actually download to my puter in a zipped format. Can anyone recommend any sites etc?

If you are looking for a great ringtone converter software then message me and and i will let you know about psmplay although as im fairly new to this you've probably all got it anyway ;)

Why is it necessary to download them in "zip format"?

Do you mean you want to download a bulk of files in zip?

If you're just looking for a specific ringtone, it's fairly simple. Just search for it on a website that sells them, then download the "preview".

Of course if you use a site like this be sure to support them by purchasing from them if you use them a lot. :)

Cheers

Bob

Well you go to www.google.com, and search for free midis and there you go. More MIDIs then you can poke a stick at.

Thanks for your answers guys:) I have tried to be naughty and go to a site which sells the ringtones, listened to the preview in windows media player and tried to save the file but that didnt seem to work:( Although there are plenty of free midi sites about, the majority of the ones i have found are of complete songs etc. I was hoping to find people who had a collection of sample midi's ie. ideal to use as ringtones already made and saved in a zip format so i could download them and use them.

It also seems to be hard to find things compatible with the Nokia 6610 bea#cause of the 4 tone thing and then having to play aroud with them in PC Suite to make them sound somewhat similar to how they were supposed to:(

Hi :)
ZIPped ringtones can be found plenty in the forums here, and there are also excellent websites where you can actually get free ones....
Have a look at my own one, at
http://thanhwap.tripod.com
there i also have links to other sites which offer this sort of stuff. On my site, you can LEFT click the "listen" icon to play the tone in media player, and RIGHT clicking that icon and selecting "save target as..." downloads the tone on your computer. If you like a tone (or wallpaper, or game) on my page, you can also DIRECT download via WAP straight into the phon :)
Best regards...
your Thanh
