I think you can use the nokia multimedia converter to convert 3gp files to mpeg or avi, you can download it at the nokia site, but you need to register, anyway, registration is free of charge. As for converting mpeg to rm, you can use helix producer. Just use the search function of the forum to search for the following video conversion softwares (I'm sure you'll find plenty of posted links where you can download them):

Nokia Multimedia Converter
Helix Producer
Pvauthor

I've seen a lot of posts regarding the above-stated programs.

well...
I am not sure how to convert 3gp to avi or mpeg, but you can just watch 3gp files with NMMP (nokia multimedia player). Its free!
you acn get it from here

http://www.nokia.com/cda1/0,1080,2019,00.html

or, if you prefer, you can download the latest Quicktime player. It supports 3gp playback as well.

Have fun

oh yeah...
about watching movies on your phone. There is a program to convert mpeg to rm. I think its called Helix or something like that. I personally have not used it

I use the nokia multimedia converter. It converts avi and mpeg to 3gp format. It can also convert mp3 to amr format.

It is free and you can get it from forum.nokia.com . You just have to register before you download. Registration is also free. :D

I highly recommend Helix Producer, It's a very good video conversion program, you can use it to convert your mpeg videos to rm format (so you can watch them on your phone). The settings are very flexible depending on your need, the sound output is also very good, far better than what pvauthor can produce. It's very easy to learn (although not as easy as Pvauthor), the learning curve isn't difficult at all, it's just a matter of experimenting with the settings until you get the quality that you want. Best of all, you can download a cracked version of Helix Producer (just use the search functions of the forum to find a link where you can download it, I'm sure there's a link, I saw it before).

Pvauthor is also a very good conversion program in terms of video quality, but the audio sucks (even when use the maxiumum audio settings). Unfortunately, I don't know of any site where you can download a cracked version, but you can download a fully working trial version from the packet video website.

all in one - use helix pro and all troubles gone away
the rm converter is very flexible and you can also change the parameters to your usage
if you like to compress extrem you can change the whole quality and so the rm-files are perfect for mobil streaming !!!

my tip use it ;)
