not that i know of...
you might wanna try saving the .sis in the mmc and opening with zipman.
from http://java-kingdom.8m.com/download/zipman13.html
If that dont work u may need to use bluetooth connectivity. the cable cost around $50 and works the same as infra-red only better!
PS whats the problem on the IRDA port (is it at the phone or PC)
you can test the IRDA on phone or pc with a AM radio at ~500Mhz. by turning it on and pretending to send something to the radios areial. you should hear some slight interference.

ok heres what to do...
1st copy the .sis file to e:\nokia\installs\ or install cant remeber...
then after copying them... go to your phone, go to tools, application manager... scroll to the bottom and youll see the sis file there... choose options then install

for ur problems.... use "efilemanager " ... its a prefect software to solve all ur problems
say that I format my phone.. Schizo's way would be the best in order to install eFileManager, right?
It would be nice to be independent of infrared since I don't have anything to transfer that way.
All I have is a card reader/writer. When I first got my phone.. I sought out someone with an infrared and then transferred eFileManager.
But I think I want to wipe my phone soon... so Schizo's way would still work... with all native apps.. right?
all the best,
Gail

yes that is the best way if your coming from ah fresh start
that does not work.
I think you have to put the file into c:\nokia\installs not e:\nokia\installs... so if you're coming from a fresh-start, it is impossible to do this.

yes it does... you have to set each and every setting of your phone to use the mmc... you should not make the folder, it should be there already...
Please enlighten me!!! how do i get my phone to use the MMC card for installs? Or is this a factory setting?
the help is appreciated!!!
thanks,
Gail
