how to reset 3650 to factory defaults

Hi,

I just got a 128Mb MMC and want to reset my phone to factory defaults in order to use this new MMC card (want to lose all the progs and contacts installed by me).

How do I accomplish this?

If you want to restore the default or factory settings on your phone, you can simply do so by reformatting it. To reformat your phone type *#7370#, you will then be prompted if you want to reformat your phone, select yes, you will then be asked to type in a code (the code is 12345 by default, unless you changed it), type in the code and the reformat process will begin. By the way, reformat your MMC first before you reformat your phone.

NOTE:

once you opt to reformat your phone all data (contacts, sms messages, games and installed appiliations, etc.) in the phones memory will be deleted. Only the applications in the ROM will be retained. You also have to reformat your Multimedia card first, you can do this by going to the extras folder, click on the memory icon and under options choose format mem. card.

CAUTION:

BE SURE YOU HAVE A FULLY CHARGED BATTERY BEFORE YOU REFORMAT YOUR PHONE, BETTER YET, PLUG IT TO THE ADAPTOR BEFORE REFORMATTING IT. THE REFORMAT PROCESS MAY TAKE A FEW MINS., JUST LET THE PROCESS FINISH, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE INTERRUPT THE REFORMAT PROCESS, IF YOU DO OR IF THE PHONE SHUTS OFF DURING THE PROCESS, IT WILL MOST LIKELY SCREW UP YOUR PHONE, THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A FULL CHARGE OR PLUG IT IN.

Phew, thanks! I'd managed to stuff up something on the phone so that it'd boot okay, but the monitor software would crash so it couldn't detect pressing the menu button. Basically means I could only access the contacts and the 2 select buttons.

Did a reformat and it's running happily again - yay! ;-)
