Major Problem with 8250 - flashing

Hi there,
Im a novice really, and i got myself a flasher kit. Big mistake!!! Ive read my fls file from my phone, using DCT 3 Knok flasher ST Edition. Fine, read it greatly, then i used PPMEditor to change a few ringtones, brilliant i thought.
Then ive gone back into the knok program, and wrote it to my phone, the only problem is now, my phone wont turn on, and when i try to read the phone, it says, "unable to prepare phone".

The only thing that i can do is erase the flash file, which i have done, but nothing else.


PLEASE HELP!!!

Ehrm, simply upload your full flash backup that you haven't edited (You've got one right?) and start again?

Otherwise find the MCU+PPM+Virgin Eeprom and flash that...

Im having problems flashing the phone though too, it says "unable to prepare phone".

But i can wipe the flash??

First Clean your Phone and Flasher contacts(head) and try.

If it doesn't work, Restart the machine and try again. Sometimes this happens to me and restart the machine will solve it for me.

I recon you to use Rolis Flasher v4.78_b (http://welshwizard.isgreat.tv/Software/ROLIS478b6.zip) for flash DCT 3 phones.

**Use Knok only if you want to flash 5210 phones**

The program doesnt work on Windows xp though, bugga! ive got it working through a compatability mode??? but when i click on read flash from phone, it just says on the bottom, put power on shortly.
Ive tried it with both the power on and off, it just doesnt seem to be doing anything.

Rolis Flasher was written for XP, so yes it does work! As for your flashing problem, you do not want to read, there's nothing to read, you erased it!!! Write instead, and when it asks to power on, insert the charger instead!!!;)
