Hello :)
I have a question regarding flashing a 8250. I know that a 8210, rom6, can be "upgraded" to be a 8250. But is the other way also possible?
I mean, if i had a 8250, could it be flashed with a 8210 flash file? I found one somewhere here with a nice modification, and would like to try it out.... a 8250 can be arranged, but no 8210.
Please someone advice me..... thanks in advance :)
Cheers.....

I don't see why not! They are almost Identical except for the keypad config! Just flash it and see what happens, you can't damage the phone! I just try different ideas like that all the time!;)

I reflashed my ROM6 8210 from the 8250 firmware to the 8210 firmware so I can use NokDoc's 4->7 bar flash file.

Make full backup of phone
Flash phone with 8210 MCU + PPM
Flash phone with 8210 EEPROM
Update FAID
Update IMEI
Clear 4 Locks
Apply SFS with NokiaTool
Update FAID

Now your 8250 should be an 8210!

Thanks in advance

Seven bars works excellent! I strongly recommend it. I have changed the icons so that it is bars like in the 6510 and 6100 instead of the numbers 1-7 like NokDoc originally had. (I can post this edited version of NokDoc's file if I get his permission first, but it is not hard to do since he has given the offset of the position of the network strength and battery icons)

I think the feature of 7 network and battery bars is much more useful than the screen saver feature in an 8250 but I do miss the predictive typing for reminders and phonebook (and the reversi game) :(
