Everyone:
I've got an AT&T locked 3310. I purchased an MBus cable from www.cell-phone-accessories.com to unlock it and am using my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 8100 running Windows XP Professional. I've identified that the cable is on COM3 and am using Noktools by Rollis v1.9.
When I do an auto-setup, it doesn't find anything on COM1 or COM2, but when it gets to COM3, I get the error:
"Can not set COM3 port lines."
I get the error five consecutive times before it moves on to COM4 and finds nothing.
Has anybody else encountered this specific problem and how have you overcome it, if it all?
Folks have been suggesting the plug-it-in-and-press-the-button-and-it's-done hardware solution that doesn't involve a PC, but I wanted to try the more economical cable solution. The way it has been painted, this shouldn't be the rocket science that I'm apparently making it out to be.
Help,
Scott
