i have the same problem too the files play fine on my phone so the files arent corrupted, and there is no problems with my file paths but i still get this message, also this message is very annoying as it is too vague to what the problem could be, has any one experienced this and found the solution?????

JUst download the GUI converter again from the ETI Camcorder main webpager and reinstall it in your pc. I experienced your situation but after i reinstall the GUI converter from the main webpage every solved

I solved it!!!
Follow these steps:

1) Unzip the prog in c:\eyecon
2) Run setup.bat (it will install NUB decoder)
3) Put the eye and ear files u wanto to convert in c:\temp folder (if un don't have it, just create it)

It finally worked for me this way.

im still getting the error i must really be doing something wrong, also i really need to use the gui as i have no dos experience so the command line version is totally out of the question for me,

oh i have just noticed when i click the setup .bat file i get; bad command or file name at the end of it, is it not properly installing???

go to the site and download it from there

make sure you put the files into the folder

c:\eyecon

the setup.bat file runs fine with that.

does anybody know if anyone is developing another converter or a new version of eyecon, cuz it seems eyecon has more problems than things it does good, its forced me to go back to hipcam which smells!!!!!!

I can convert to avi OK, but it will only play on a PC with NUB codecs installed. Can't seem to convert the avi into anything else either. Put it in Virtual Dub & it goes strange.

It does always cause XP to crash if the preview tries to show to.

Is there a reliable way of making the AVI's that will work on anything?

I had the same trouble with bad .eye but removing and reinstalling or just rebooting the computer seemed to solve it.

Just thought of one way actually. I worked out a way to convert .3gp files ages ago and although a bit of a ropey way round.

As I can get the video to play back on just the one machine, I can make a decent working avi using softcam as the latter part of the instructions I had made at:-

http://www.scotsonphones.co.uk/Sonic/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=dct4_chat;action=display;num=1051971212;start=0

FFS!! That didn't work either. For some reason Softcam wont capture the avi's that Eyecon has made.

Someone must have got a successful way to change .eye/.ear to AVI's that work on anything by now.

Help!!!! :(
