3510i animated wallpaper

if i upload an animated GIF to my 3510i it can be displayed as an animation from the gallery, but when i set it as a desktop it won't display animated!

is there a possability to have an animated wallpaper ??

Well I don't know about the 3510i, but to attach..:

When you post a thread, you get a big text box that you put text in, look down. You'll see:

Options: (Then 4 check boxes)
Attach file <---
Rate this Thread.

Choose the file you want to attach by clicking on choose.

There you go :)

Be aware not to post big files, it probably will get rejected or corrupted, and always stick files in zip files :) (Or better still ace or rar, but you need to rename as ace.zip and rar.zip respectively)

u might have read wat u are about to read next at another post, so avoid reading this if u did coz i posted the same reply/answer that i did before this since this is the same question being asked by our frens here which is about changing the default screensaver on series 30 & 40 phones, so here it is: :)


i dont think so u can change the default digital clock screensaver coz there's no such feature in 3510i/3530....heck, for current series 30/40 phones(like 6100/7250/7210/6610/5100), this option is also not available where u can change the default clock screensaver to animated ones like 3510/3350/3610/2100...

according to nokia, it seems this function of changing the screensaver is disabled for time being for all the current series 30 & 40 phones (i dont know about series 60 phones like 3650/7650) because the default clock screensaver is meant for battery saving purpose...by the way, the only thing u tweak on this screensaver subject is that u can only change the time before the default clock screensaver appears..hope u know wat i meant here!!!

anyway, those people who wanted to change their screensavers to any animated GIF pictures and look for other good features in a phone should look forward to 3100 & 6600 which are coming out in few months time, till then, bear the pain of unable to change the default screensaver, like me also:grin:

sorry about wat i have posted before this, although it might sound irrelevant to your question, i think i'll leave it there as to add more information for your question!!!...

as for animated wallpaper, it is certainly impossible for the time being becoz there is no capabilities in current series 30/40 phones where u can set an animated GIF as a wallpaper for your phone, if u did this somehow, it will only show/display the first frame of that animated picture/GIF...

its kind of weird here, but i hope the people/engineers of software in Nokia are reading this, why the heck u cant set a animated picture as a wallpaper/screensaver in a phone when u can preview it at same time in the very same phone????:mad: :( :confused:

To be honest, Nokia do some strange things, all they seem to care about is money. Maybe it's a function they'll reserve for a long time, maybe they can't be bothered.

Just remember, Nokia is a heartless coporation that simply wants your money, the mobile industry is booming so they're happy. I hardly think they care about good ideas such as animated backgrounds.

Just my view on Nokia ...:D

on this quote, i have to agree with u...although not 100%, maybe around 85%:) , but i guess, if they can make good phones, why cant they make it greater??? just compare a series 30 nokia with a Sony Erricson any model (as long as non-colour model) and you will find out that the Sony Ericsson is far better than nokia in terms on functions/features, most of newer SE has EMS (which is better than SMS), 4-5 level grayscale/monochrome display where u can do toning for B/W pictures, able to send short animations B/W pictures thru SMS and much more, nokia on the other hand are known popular becoz of ease of usability, looks plain, simple and attractive but to be true, the overall software(features/functions) need to be overhalled & improved a lot better than now if they wanna stay on top, so wake up now NOKIA!!!!

Actually you are agreeing with me 100%, it's just I didn't phrase myself very well.

I am simply saying that Nokia want money. They will do this by any means necessary and one of the most used methods is technological dripping.

Basically, they drip feed us technology, very slowly improoving each version, rather than releasing a brilliant mobile. They CAN build great mobiles, but it is my feeling that they are simply restrciting themselves on each phone to one major advancement.

SonyE phones are great, my friends have them and I would buy them if I had the money and the need. However, Nokia have the luck of the draw as being the dominant mobile company, and you're right, they are in danger of falling behind if they don't wake up, so I agree with you there. :)

this feature is currently unavailable to any nokia phones to date currently in the market.....heck, if im right, i dont think so u set the animations as a wallpaper/background picture, maybe u can set it as a screensaver but this feature is also currently missing from current series 30 and 40 phones (colour screen phones) except phones like 3330, 3350, 3610, 3510, 2100 which enables u to set animation as a screensaver but only in B/W...though im not sure about this on 3650/7650...look for 3100 in market in few months coming which will enable animation pictures/GIFs as a colour animation screensavers!!!

setting a animated picture as a wallpaper is currently not available, i guess atleast on any phones in the market, not only nokia but other brands too.....
