3510i Data Cable connection troubles

After recently purchasing data cables for mine and my dads phones we have come up with a problem my 8310 is faultless on the cable and works fine, but my dads 3510i wont connect the cable is correctly fitted to the fone but a connection is not detected i tried using Logomanager Link Test and it says failed when i attempt to use it.

Please please help as its rather frustrating!

if ure sure it's an 3510i cable then it should work
make sure that u know what com port it uses
and if it got such thing glued to it @ the pins remove it, cause i had that also & that was causing the pins not touching the contacts with me at least

works fine now :) both mbus & fbus should give 100% in link test

& use oxygen phone manager 2 mobimb don't work that well with my 3510i

It was advertised as a 3510i cable and as ive been told both 3510 and 3510i cables are compatible with either fone.
