hi guys how can i format my 9210? is the OS also removed when doing this? where can i get the OS once it's removed?

i'm not techie enough so i not sure if this can be done..thanks in advance

Release battery, put it again to your device and immediately when welcome picture apper press simutanousely keys:
Ctrl + Shift + F (F press last). Then formatting will became.
Formatting remove all yours data, installed aplications except OS Symbian System and basic aplications as Telephone, Messaging, Control Panel ect.

cause this will leave your communicator almost empty, install "allnokia9210data" to your MMC! It´s on the nokia cd shipped with the device.
But you should also format your MMC and reinstall that too, cause most of the apps from the MMC wont work after formating 9210...

You can do that by pressing "office" then go to file manager and select format MMC from menue... To reinstall MMC you will need the "allmemorycarddata". (It´s also on 9210 CD)

If you dont have your cd anymore, you can get "allnokiadata" and "allMMCdata" from nokia.com , it´s at the phone support section. But be sure that you download the right data for your firmware!! (Find out firmware version by pressing *#0000# on phone side of 9210...)

do i have to format the mmc first before the formating the main drive? i know most of you have encountered error in formatting ur fones..can you guys give me advice in DOs & DONTs or steps i should do in order not to get errors or destroying my fone? i'm afraid it might get it back working again once i format it

the most popular problem that i've heard from people after they formatted their 9210s, is that they could not send messages.
is there a specific reason for this problem; and if so, is there a work-around?

and if i go by the above instructions, will it be possible for me to safely format; and regain work on my 9210i without probs?

You should not have any prob formatting your 9210i. I've done it dozens of times and never had any problem. If anything it speeds up ur phone!. Just make sure u have all the apps u need ready on hand. :)
