cant really think of anything else in that case bud, have you got multiple sms centre numbers? if so try deleting some, also try deleting ini files.
When commy restarts press ctrl+shif+I

ok, open up messaging and go to
menu
tools
account settings
short message
where it says servce centre in use press change and select the one that matches your network provider if theres more than one.
CTRL+SHIFT+I will delete all the ini files that programs makes.
Remove the battery
Reinsert it
When you see the two hands then press CTRL+SHIFT+I
CTRL+SHIFT+I will NOT delete programs just ini files.
INI files are files that hold configuration information. Like settings, you may lose your wap setting and other setting but NO programs.
C if that works :-)

hmmmmmmmmm, no in that case, all I can suggest now is you reformat the communicator totally.
You will loose all information such as programs installed/contacts/messages.
Do you know how to format the commy and do u know how to do a backup first?
send me a pm if u dont

ive been using my 9210 for alomst a year now, i have put in a lot of hacks and cracks for some reason after 1 year i suddenly have the same problem as you do, i am also trying the recommendations i hope they work!! would you be kind enough to inform me if you were successful in fixing your phone? ive been rebooting and rebooting to no avail. aside from the messages going strait to the outbox, sometimes they get lost! there are even times wherin my message storage would automatically change from mem card to communicator, i would be able to see the thumbnail of the message but whenever i try to open it it says not found!! hoping for your rsponse! man i need help!!:(

open up archive manager in pc suite and extract the following two files
C:\System\Data\Calendar, C:\System\Data\Almsvr.dat
The two files are calendar dates and alarm dat file
you can then restore just these two files back to the commy.
you can extract them using show individual files and then restore selected.

not neccessarily, yes formatting the fone is the quickest and easiest thing to do, but you need to make backups and reinstall all your software/games again.
and in the long run can be more of a headache.
I have had my 9210i for about 7 months now. I have formatted it twice in that period only. I personally prefer to fix any problems that just format the dang thing :-)

I have had my 9210i for about 7 months now. I have formatted it twice in that period only.
I reformat my device almost everymonth and I realize that I should backup manually some important files before reformatting the device by dragging-dropping from commy to PC:
- calendar (c:\system\data\calendar)
- profile setting (c:\system\data\dbProfile.db)
- contacts backup file (d:\system\data\myContactBackup.cdb)
- some files created by sheet, word processor, YEdit, RMRbank, etc.
- color setting if you have installed colors program (drive:\system\apps\colors\schemes\your_file)
I also prefer to reinstall all the applications I need manually instead of using restoring facility on the Archieve Manager (PC Suite).

how about the sms messages? what's the file of the received messages???
sektor_1
15-08-2003, 11:44 AM
C:\System\Data\smssegst.dat,
C:\System\Data\smsreast.dat,
C:\System\Data\Cdbv2.dat,
C:\System\Schedules\Schedules.dat,
C:\System\Mail\*.*
The first is the sent message list for SMS,
the second is the received message list for SMS,
the third is the SMS and email database,
the fourth is the schedule log for SMS and email.
The last which may be on C or D drives is the storage of the actual messages.

do i just have to copy and paste those messages files in my pc? and vice versa in restoring them??
sektor_1
27-08-2003, 11:27 PM
yes, you just have to copy and past them back, but othello (user on here) had problems with copying them back even though he copied them back it still wouldn't work but it does work for me and my other friends, so all I can say is try it and c :-)
