after hours of wap etc, my phone has failed me. (also dldg applications) now hte wap doesnt work, and crashes on the menu. also it seems to revert to previous settings, like not saving changes.
see i went to get it reflashed, its version 5.06, but it had abs. no effect didnt even delete all the stuff. it was still there. even the screensaver.
see my applications menu is bugged also. i cant delete the last 2 remaining games of the thing. they are 0 kb they are ghost applications.
theres apparently another version of 3410 software, but it wont be ne good if it doesnt delete all the memory and clear all the settings which i thought reflashing did.
does anyone hav the same problem of wap not working, crashing on wap, and bugged apllications menu on the 3410?? ive only had it a week!
dld like 30+ programs and deleted and usw. so the fragmentation may be a problem, i dunno. btw the reflashing was at am official nokia centre for free under warranty so no saying that they werent professionals. supposedly!
I haven't had any problems with my 3410, and have gone against flashing it. I'll just find a 3310 to play around with.
I guess you should take it back to your Nokia centre and get them to fix it. :)

(Or flash it yourself...more risky though!)

thanks, well i have just found out i hav been on wap like 47hours in the past three weeks, thats 2 hours/day!! yeh will take it back to the lincs centre, and hope they will fully flash it this time. its a good phone though, just unable to cope with excess downloads of apps. (there should be a delete all menu, and restore menu etc.. on the UI) or format menu that would hav helped me, except i hav to pay £15 for a cable.
btw, whats the codes i type in for the manufacturing date??
i know *#000# and *#06# at the moment, is there a list of commands anywhere??

For 3410, u'll have to use knok 1.0a
To solve ur probs, u need to flash mcu+ppm+eprom
Look for a fubu (full backup)
And dun forget to repair imei, and remove sim locks. Also, flash without sim

Rolis will flash 3410! Just use the 3330 model or 3350!;)
http://www.nokia-flash.tk
has a 5.06 FuBu for the 3410...it ain't the latest (5.30 is) but once you've got 5.06 working, you can upgrade it.
Remember all the FAID and IMEI stuff :)

(p.s. the same site has the mcu+ppm for 3410's 5.30 and 5.06)

shit im sorry i dont read!!!
i presumed this was just a forum...
oh well. yep, cya
I'm doing a lot of research/toying with the Java memory (PMM) and can delete the ghost apps if you want :D
The program is not ready to release publicly yet, but has been totally redone to make it user friendly :)
(That'll make bobl happy!)
If you get a flash cable, read 570000-600000 and send it to me. I'll get rid of the ghost applications - I'm good at that 'cos everytime I try to upload I make the blooming things but can remove them easily enough (I've had a lot of practice! :D)
Send a private message for my email details (to send the file). I'll give you step by step instructions if needed :)

@jeep - YAY! Does that mean I get a nice user friendly one :D Send send send :D
Sorry daveman, I forgot about this thread.
I have a set of cables for the 3410, but I can't give em out cause I am using them for a 3310 I'm working on, sorry :(
If you did REALLY REALLY want, I might accept your phone by mail, but it would almost cost as much for the cables. (Postage to me and back :( )
And trust me, I live no where near you...:D
Are you sure you can't just go to a service centre, it still ain't on warranty?
And yes, look at chunkhead's tutorials...they are amazing :)
Gluck mate, come back and ask us any questions you have, but do read the tutorials throroughly before going ahead :).

HOW COME ITS SUCH A BIG DEAL BUYING A CABLE!!!

they only cost £5 or less...
£5 for a flasher cable...cool :) But that is building yourself. Most people can't be bothered...the way I see it:
If you can earn £18 in the time it would have taken you to the build the cable, you should buy the full dct3 flasher/data cable set.
And my electronics is shocking, but my job pays well...so I just worked an extra hour and got myself a cable set ;)

its £20 for the flash cable with all the nokia fone fittings.
at the shops, so you should be able to get it cheaper.
at computer fairs.

aghh, 20 quid i cant afford 20 quid! i spend my money on clothes, and cds, not cables, .. and maybe drink...
Save 50p a day for 40 days, save £1 a day for 20 days...it all adds up ;)
Just one less pint at the pub and you're sorted :D
Save up for it mate, they're worth it ;)
Cheers
Bob
