View Full Version : Jeep's New Proggy Beta Thread
I'm sure Jeep will fill in some detail, he started posting this information about an exiting new program he is building, which allows uploading of games with a flash cable to the 3410 (Something that I think is VERY VERY impressive :D)
I started this thread cause the posts were starting to go off topic.
This thread is for beta testers' experiences in using his program :)
I am also trying to post hints and tips on using this program :)
Enjoy!
Bob
Right, now some help for beta testers....
This program apparantly supports full flashes, but it was very slow for me, hence I decided to read in the flash Between 570000-5FFFFF
This is your PMM (not your PPM, don't get them confused)
This is where all your games and some incredibly interesting stuff that Jeep has decoded :)
To get this part of your flash, use the attached program, knok phoenix 1a
Read --> Read flash and store as FLS
Start address: 0x570000
End address: 0x5FFFFF
This won't take long, and you'll end up with a 576kb flash file. This is your PMM chunk.
The instructions are fairly similar for Rolis Flasher, just read in in Dejan FLS format, between the same points :)!
Cheers Bob, I was going to start a new thread, but never quite got round to it.... :D
I wouldn't work too hard on a user guide at the moment - for starters, it's just you playing with it at the moment, and secondly, I intend to simplify the screen significantly before it goes to a fully released tool.
For those that missed the original discussion, burried in the "prince of persia" thread (:D). I've sucessfully uploaded a game to my 3410 via cable.
It's early days still, but I've decoded a good amount of the PMM area, it's already very easy to extract JADs and JARs from a partial flash. Adding them in is taking a lot more work, but if you're careful, you can replace what's already there.
There are no checksum or FAID problems to deal with - it's a case of reading a partial flash from your phone, playing with this program and then uploading back to the phone. As an added bonus, it's quite straightforward to undelete things as well :D
I'm not going to post the beta here - it's constantly evolving at the moment and I'd never be able to make sure that the version here is up to date. PM an email address & I'll send you the latest version :)

When I first saw how much stuff was stored, it scared the hell out of me!
Thanks for writing the readme file bob :)
Yeh, I've just realised how bad this is. I've got some petrol and burnt the 3410, I'll go and buy a new one later.
I think you may have to create a PMM wiper :)
