Hi! Well i just browsed to handago's site and I found out that the new ETI camcorder 1.0 has been released. Does anyone of you have the code for this? I tried it out and it's really great but it's still needs to be registered. Help Guy's... I really like this program. Thanks in advance. :)

Yep, I just found this also. It is the full version (not the beta that is floating around) of version 1.0. I believe it just was released today (07/29/03), so keep your eyes out for a crack. Let us all know as soon as anyone gets it.

ETI1.0, downloaded it from handango.com and installed it just a while ago. I just run it, it did not ask for any serial or registration! I think this is the full version already?!? This new version is much-much better than the previous one, you've got to download and install it to appreciate the new features. Have fun!!! ;) :) ;)

try the following step by step and it should work:

1) unzip the eyecon contents into c:\eyecon
2) store your .eye and .ear files on c:\temp
3) goto command promp and type "path=c:\windows\system" (this is very important but for some reason this step has not been included in the instructions text file)
4) run the setup file in c:\eyecon (since you typed the path command, you should not get the bad command or filename error)
5) assuming your filename is video(1).eye type the following command to convert your file to .avi. make sure you are in c:\eyecon:
eyecon c:\eyecon\video(1).eye c:\temp\video(1).avi
6) go to c:\temp folder and run the .avi

i have over written all the old files in c\eyecon with the new ones you jus gave me, but i still get the same


in the read me it says

wat does this mean???

"bad command or file name"

means that your pc can´t find the file your entered.
Be shure you are in the right folder and the file exist in this folder.

But you can do something else to get EyeCon to work :

1. If there exist a folder called "EyeCon" on your C: partition, delete or rename it.
Now make a new folder called "EyeCon" in the root of your C: partition and extract the EYECON.ZIP into this folder.

2. Open your Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\EyeCon where the file nubinst.exe is stored in.
Double-click it to install the NuB Codec V1.0.0.1 and follow the instructions on your screen.
You will need this codec, because EyeCon want to convert the .eye and. ear files into an .avi file with NuB Codec.

3. goto Start => Run... => and type "cmd" (without the ")
The command-window should appear.
Now type "regsvr32 /s hcnubscr.ax" (also without the ")
Type "exit" (You know how to handle the " now ? :))

Now reopen your Windows Explorer and navigate to "C:\EyeCon" and double-click on the file "EyeCon GUI.exe".

Post your results !

PS: Best store your .eye and .ear files in "C:\EyeCon", too. Remember that EyeCon is a DOS based tool and DON´T accept foldernames over eight characters and with special characters !

Are you using Win ME ??
Try searching for a file called "command.com".
It should stored in "C:\Windows\System32".
If you find that, double-click it and the command window should open.

Okay, my fault. Didn´t know you are still using Win98.

Start => Run... => cmd

only works on WinNT, Win 2000 and Win XP (or higher).

On Win 9x and Win ME it´s :

Start => Run... => command.com

Check this out and post your results.

Because the errors with msconfig and other things please send pm´s, because it´s not this topic.

You wanna to delete the old beta version, right ?
So please post the exactly way you want to uninstall it and post the exactly error messages you receive and when they appear.

I tried the latest release (full) and it's definitely better than the beta... more options and the sound is great. One observation, the video quality is not as good as the beta. it's not WYSIWYG.

hmm... look´s like the trial version...
Sorry, but i can´t see any changing to the trial version.
But i surprise that there´s no expire date given in the program.
But by the way, as long as the videos converted with the actualy EyeCon tool (CMD and GUI Version) are upside down and psychedelic colored if you use the new V1.0 version, I will stay using the beta version.
Or does anyone already have seen a new converter ?

It look´s exactly like the trial version.
I will take a scan of the both files (trial version and the posted "cracked" version) and post the result, if it really is a cracked version.

I have heard that though the new version has many improvements over the beta there are still some issues with video quality and wysiwyg, however, it seems there are going to pathces realeased over the coming days to slove these problems

Okay, scan complete and that´s the result :

The file "ETICamcorder.app" had been changed between hex adress 00000018 and 00000032.

That means, that´s really a cracked version !
If it´s a working cracked version... the time will show it. :)

The following are the steps that were ouline on allaboutsymbian.com forum to install/use the new converter properly. I havent's tried it yet myself but hope it works!!

1. Do you see files named NUB2.dll and NUB2.inf? If YES, right-click on the NUB2.inf and choose Install. Afterward, try the conversion again and see if you can play the file. If NO, you haven't got the latest converter. Download it now.

2. Now that you have the latest code and still not working?!! All right, let's try some other tricks -

3. Right-click on the generated AVI and choose "Properties". Select the "Summary" tab. Do you see near the bottom something like "Video compression Nub Codec 1.0?" If not, you haven't installed the CODEC properly... go back to step 1.

4. Still not working? Oh, boy! Let's verify that the video is indeed generated correctly. Download this FREE tool called FourCC Changer. Once you installed the tool, open the AVI file with it. Depend on what you see in the list boxes - Do you see "NUB1"? If yes, read 5.1; "NUB0"? Read 5.2. None of those? Read 5.3 instead.

5.1 So it says NUB1? And still no video? MAKE SURE you have downloaded the newest EYECON and you do have files named NUB2.DLL in the C:\EYECON directory. Manually copy the NUB2.DLL file into C:\Windows\System32 and try again.

5.2 NUB0? I wonder how the... Only older version of EYECON generate AVIs with that... so PLEASE make sure you have the newest EYECON. Change the letters, using the FOURCC changer tool, to NUB1 (both lists) and exit the tool to update the change. Now try playing again. Or, if you have other CODECs installed, for example, DivX or Xvid, you can also try changing the letters to DIVX or XVID.

5.3 Now we've got a problem... Refer to the next step for a CLEAN, manual installation.

6. I hope we don't have to do this, but... anyway, let's try this, ready?

6.1 Uninstall the NUB codec. Go to Control Panel, and "Add Remove Software". Locate "NUB Codec" and remove it.

6.2 Click the "Start" button and choose "Run...". Type the following command -
regsvr32 -u c:\eyecon\hcnubsrc.ax

6.3 Repeat the above step but this time type -
regsvr32 c:\eyecon\hcnubsrc.ax

6.4 Locate NUB2.INF and right-click on it and choose "Install". Say "Yes" when prompted. Now you should have the program configured... try again and see if it works.

Basically, you want to be sure you have installed the latest EYECON which can be downloaded in the Series60 Multimedia forum. After unpacking it, MAKE SURE you put all the files into your old C:\EYECON\ directory and overwrite all files in there. After conversion, use the FOURCC tool to verify that you have NUB1 in the AVI. If not, you are definitely not using the latest EYECON.

NuB.dll (http://thehelldogs.hypermart.net/Downloads/NuB.dll)

and store them in C:\EyeCon (overwrite the old files)

Now right-click on NuB.inf and say "Install".

That´s all.

Does the new converter work fine for you?? what's your take on the video quality of the new ETI Camcorder version.

The resolution of the taken videos (I tested it with "high quality" in the settings of ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0) is much bigger and there are more pictures per seconds (with almost no hangs) as as in the beta version.

I think the resolution of the picture is up to 3 x larger as in the beta version.

Test it and you will be inspired !

Okay, I will explain what happens in the complete new EyeCon converter posted by aazain and the two files I posted.

1. The new EyeCon converter by aazain

Because the codec had been changed from ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0 beta to ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0, you will also need an updated codec for the converting tool that "understand" the data receiving from your phone. (the .eye and .ear files)
Both solutions, the new EyeCon converter by aazain and my both files include this updated codec.

The normal codec from the old EyeCon tool is named as "NuB Codec V1.0.0.1" and you should also find it on your pc under the videocodecs.

Now, aazain set´s the new updated codec as a NEW codec called "NuB2 V1.0.0.1".
Okay, now you have the new codec, BUT your converter is still programmed to use the "NuB V1.0.0.1" codec. And that´s the problem because someone of you still have converted videos with the picture upside down.

2. My both files, NuB.ini and NuB.dll

By right-click on NuB.ini and saying "Install" from the context menu, these two files replacing the old "NuB V1.0.0.1" codec with the updated one. After installing, there will still be only the "NuB V1.0.0.1", but now this is the updated codec working with ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0.
Because I didn´t change the codecname or the placement of the codec, there must be no changes at the rest of EyeCon.

* ETI Camcorder : The recording tool
* ETI Movie Album : The managing tool for the taken videos
* ETI Player : To play taken videos in the ETI Movie Album

So it seems you are starting the wrong file.

Don´t start System\Apps\ETIPlayer\ETIPlayer.app
start System\Apps\ETICamcorder\ETICamcorder.app

I have no idea how or why you always are trying to start ETIPlayer.app, but try to open the ETICamcorder.app manualy by using the FExplorer or SeleQ and navigate to that file.

But there should be a new Icon with a camcorder symbol in your menu to start ETICamcorder.app. By selecting this Icon ETICamcorder should start.

EYECON PROBLEM

I have the following experience with the Eyecon converter:

**After installing the new eyecon (hence codec nub1), I can no more play the .avi files that I had created with the previous eyecon (codec nub0).
I get the error "file type not supported" or "cannot download codec"

**When I use the new eyecon (new codec) to convert the .eye files I had recorded with the beta version of Eti , the resulting .avi file is upside down and the colors are very very bad.

**The only success is when I use the Eti version 1.0, and convert the .eye file to .avi using the new eyecon.

Any comments?

i installed it, replaced the 2 files, and installed te 2 files, started the EYECON Gui, but when i m trying to convert .eye, it says i m choosing the wrong file, it says i chose .ear file, and it cannot convert.

if you get error message saying invaild file type ,etc. make sure that you:
1) store and convert your files in c:\eyecon
2) do not use speech mode in audio codec option on the phone

Remember this guys :

The old NuB codec (coming with the standard EyeCon (CMD or GUI) tool) only works with ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0 BETA

The new NuB codec (that means the two files NuB.inf and NuB.dll posted in this thread) only works with ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0 ( NO BETA)

By updating the NuB Codec (by downloading the new nub.inf and nub.dll and installing them) you LOOSE the old codec because you replace it with the new one.
This means, not just converting .eye / .ear files made with the Beta version is now impossible, also playing .avi files made with the old codec !

The new codec is only for the NON-BETA version for converting .eye / .ear files and playing .avi files made with the non-beta version.

To SAVE your .avi files made with the beta version, reinstall the old codec (copy the old NuB.inf and NuB.dll found in the EyeCon.zip file you downloaded for your ETI Camcorder Pro V1.0 Beta and install them).
Now convert the .avi files with NuB codec into .avi files with another codex, for example DivX. For this use Virtual Dub.
After converting all .avi files which need the old NuB codec, the old NuB codec is now not needed anymore.
Now reinstall the new codec for the non-beta version.

C:\EyeCon

Start EyeCon GUI or CMD and just select the .eye file.
The .ear file just have to be in the same folder (in this case C:\EyeCon) and have the same name as the .eye file.
For example:

Video(1).eye
Video(1).ear

EyeCon automaticly converts the .eye and .ear files together.

does anyone know of a decent software to convert avi to mpeg? i downloaded one (couldnt find a crack) and it converted the file to mpeg layer 1 and the quality was crap, and another i downloaded wouldnt have any sound with it either :confused: :confused:

Yeah I know what you are talking about, I have experienced the same problem.... I have realised that when I use pause frequently some portions of the audio seems to crack up when I playback... must be be bug in software!!!

So I would try it, too.
The EyeCon tools on S60 Island are all sepcially only for the version of ETI Camcorder Pro that´s noticed in the discription under the download link and only works with this version.

I have very problems with the new eti camcorder...
The most part of the videos that i record are 1 minute more or less,but when i go to see the video he only recorded 4 seconds.
When the video is good the sound only is present 10 seconds.
The numbers that i refer aren't always the same...
Someone that don't have this problems can post here the settings that are using?Thanks
