Displaying Z: (ROM Drive) in Filemanager

Start File Manager and type ++sp code on the keyboard. Green "++sp" message will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.

Press the Menu key and select Settings... command from Tools menu. You will see a window with two options: "Show system directory" and new option Show ROM. Change the option to Yes.

Close File Manager and load it up again. You will see Z: drive displayed in the left window. You can browse it just like C: and D: drives. You can also copy files from it and run applications -just like on 'normal' drives.

Note: Z: drive is write protected, which means, that you can only read from it, but you can't modify its contents.

Weird.. I've used the ++sp trick on my 9210 before and worked like a charm. Now on my 9210i it doesn't work. :(

sektor_1 and Ralliant, what languages are your phone? My 9210 was an english version and my 9210i is dutch. Could it be different per language :confused:

It works on my 9210 and it also works on my 9210i. BUT some people say it depends on your software version for the 9210i, Nokia found out about it and blocked the code on some version of the 9210i

Both my commys are in english.

As far as I know it doesnt matter about the language version so long as you find the equivilant of the character s and p in whatever language ure using.

Works fine here on my 9210i v5.34 - even got it working in XTM running dos v6.22 by adding the following to config.sys:
DEVICE=A:\EPOCFS.SYS Z:\

This adds Drive Z:\ as E:\ (third ldrive as I have C: and D: first)

Don't know if I needed steps above to also enable it in XTM, think it's independant though - so may also work on firware v6.00 even if file manager doesn't.:p

It works on 9210 v 5.34, because that was the version of my commy, and alan_deane has got it working on his 9210i 5.34

What software version is your commy?

Also read alan_deane's post further up, he managed to get it working using XTM

Press the Menu key and select Settings... command from Tools menu. You will see a window with two options: "Show system directory" and new option Show ROM. Change the option to No

I see one window with one option.(show system directory->yes)
and I change the option to no but I still see the directory.
why that?
and I press the ++sp

sektor_1

If you only see one option and not two, then it hasnt work.
If you change the show system option to no then you do not see the system folder, thats all.

When I want to show the directory everything was fine but to hide the directory it show me just one option.
WHY?
