Problem with 3310 v.5.55 MCU file - solved and explained

hi there

as you may have experienced, the size of the MCU file for Nokia 3310 v.5.55 software is a bit to small - it's exactly 64kb or in other words, if you flash the file it will stop at (<) 0x00330000 instead of 0x00340000.

(those guys flashing the MCU and PPM in parts and not combined propably havn't noticed it)

I've modified the file and tested it myself, it works perfectly well.

I had no problem flashing the separate WINTELSA MCU and PPM file in Rolis Flasher 4.77

I dont understand how people have problem flashing wintelsa files and why they get all confused trying to use wt2dejan.exe program in doing so.

In Flasher 4.77
Select 3310 from the drop down menu.
Above the main window in the software where all the information is there is a MCU Load and PPM Load button and FLASH at the very end.
In these load the WINTESLA MCU file and the WINTESLA PPM File and the FLASH button is now active. Click that to start flashing.

I then read the phone to get normal MCU+PPM file. 00200000 - 003D0000

Easy!
No converting or messing about at all, and most of all, NO CONFUSION!

Liam, I'm sorry, but it seems as you havn't got the point. I'm speaking about converted files, truly raw Flashfiles and no Wintesla flashes.
convert it yourself and you will see
64kb are missing (MCU file).

maybe you've got me now.

What I am saying is that you do not need to convert the flash files, they work fine as raw wintesla files.

Hi,

I agree with Mr. Leandros.
In wtsla mcu is really missing 0x10000 bytes for newer 331x.
(13.0000 upto 14.0000)

But also I agree the others, U can just flash the 2 wtsla files.
Because the gap is not of importance for functioning.

But since most of us like extras we always need dejan conversions first because of the required recalcs.

Btw, the wt2dejan fills the gap while converting to dejan mcu.

Why convert to Dejan?

If you only have wintelsa files... you flash wintelsa files because you can.

If you want Dejan files for this flash, you can just read it from the phone after flashing.

You dont have to worry about messing about using software to convert, nor have to worry about the sizes being wrong after converting.

Or you can just ask someone like my self to send a working Dejan version of the required flash.

but, why read from phone when you can use that special/copy ppm to binary and then save as flash?
well.. i know. when reading flash from phone, you will see if there is problems.
