can i modify the 5110 to Dual Band

Actually 5110 is a single band set. can i modify that to dual band set if yes, what can i do?

I don't think so, you could probably change the firmware with some intricate DSP code changes (really hard), but Nokia would be crazy to have build a dual band hagar (GSM transceiver) into a singleband phone. But it could be..

No isn't possible...

You would have to change DSP and get some flash that is 1MB small and try to get it on a 5110. I'd never saw a 1MB flash that is a dualband phone... So, this would also be changing your FlashChip...

Hi boeboe,
The 5130 takes a 1mb flash and the one i had worked as a dual band phone.

It was a weaker signal on GSM900 and it didnt display the operator logo but it could still make and recieve calls.

I dont know the serial number as its a phone i had (as stated above), ie. no longer have it.
