Hello there...

I mistakenly entered *#7370# in my 6120 (I thought that was only a default-settings reset), but now I know better... :((

Any chance of getting my numbers back, stranded somewhere
in memory? Maybe the memory locations just were marked
free, without actually clearing the data.

Thanx dearly....

Unfortunately theres no real easy way... Thats why NOKIA changed that in newer version flash software. (disabled that command)

Hey phonedudes: (thanks por replying!)

That's okay -- I didn't expect it to be *easy*...

Still, I have a good EE background and I'm ready to build my flasher cable in order to read the phone's memory by hand
until I find where the phonebook is stored. That's why I asked
if the locations were actually wiped out or just marked "free".

Any pointers?

- ariel

(Anyway, I already wanted to flash my firmware before I got into this mess) ;)

I should say marked "free".

http://Nokiafree.org says more about names & numbers in 6210.

Also in eeprom will be old fragments 'hanging'

Good Luck

You should be able to piece your Phone Log back to some sort of understandable format atleast to copy it down.. As long as you have NOT rewritten NEW DATA or obviously reflashed your phone before reading it out..

It does NOT completely wipe out the info. Like NOK DOC stated it kind of marks free..
