Under the warranty menu *#92702689# does anyone know how the Life Timer works? I have a 6610, but it should be the same for all nokia phones.

Hello :)
The "Life Timer" memorizes for how long your phone has been "used" in terms of being in a call.
Check under "Call register", there is a "call duration" which separates between received and dialled calls, and also shows "All calls duration". The time give there is the same as in the "life timer".
You can "Clear timers" in that menu, but i think (did not test it... don't want to lose that info) that the "Life Timer" in the warranty menu will NOT reset but continue. It is most likely to tell a Nokia technician how long the phone has been used, if it comes to a repair situation.
(Say, you have the phone one year and three days, used it 1596 hours and it breaks down... you flash a new software and go to the service centre "Here, it's only two weeks old and broke..." with this life timer they can check how long it actually has been used).
Kind regards...
Thanh

Thanks for that, i always thought that the timer recorded how long the phone has been on, not how long it has been on a call. :D

Upgrading the software must reset the timer.
