View Full Version : Massive Phonesecure Problem... (Sorry, the story is a bit long... cuz I'm a rookie)

Hey all... Kinda new to posting in this forum... But lets see how i go...

Firstly I should probably say thanks to all that have helped others when they have come across problems with their phones... Just reading these posts has solved numerous issues with my phone...until now...(I am eternally greatful for those solving the previous problems, seriously, eternally.....)

This afternoon I was doing an 'update' of the apps on my 3650..
(Ie: lotsa new toys so kindly provided by many of the members here and various yahoo! groups) in this little adventure i yet again ran into the everpresent problem with the 3650 and its rapdily decreasing ram... My solution was to remove any/all the programs i didn't need or didn't like (two of these being minigps v1 and phonesecure v1.2)... In the process of removing minigps (which i tried first) my phone 'froze' and brought up the phone secure options... which i then could not exit from... as a result my phone crashed... next i try to start the phone and get that 'quite annoying after 3 hrs of trying to shut the thing up phonesecure alarm'... My phone replies to me the 'phone disabled' msg i set...

Fair enuff, some have most probably had this msg b4... so i tried their procedures... I sms'd the codes to my sim, and funnliy enough my 'not checking the settings b4 i closed it last nite becuz i was too tired' comes full circle and the password i think i set doesn't seem to work despite 21 msg attempts (yes 21, on my girl's phone bill, aint she gonna love me for that)... so then i tried safe boot: and it doesnt work on my 3650... so i resorted to my final resort, start the slauncher switcher and kill the app... but hey this is where my little surprise comes in... phone secure is locking me out of the 'offline' smartlauncher and taskswitcher.....

As one could imagine I am quite frustrated being unable to solve this easily (as anyone would be) and i am also on the brink of panic as i rely on my 'smart' phone on a daily basis, so having this fixed would greatly help my sanity... So i guess what i'm asking is does anyone know how to work miracles on my phone, like bring it back from what i deem dead, or better yet know how to and would be willing to tell me how to work a miracle such as this???

Please, and once again eternally greatful...

BTW: I have frimware 2.54 if thats of anyhelp... just reply if anymore info is needed...

can you dial out? i mean can you use the phone to call someone?

if you are still able to dial out, you can try *#7370#, it should format the phone to factory settings, effectively removing the bugger programs...

Remove the MMC before you do this, and make sure it has enough battery power left.

:D DidnŽt read the instructions of PhoneSecure V1.2 before uninstall ? :D
If you try to uninstall PhoneSecure without closing the app before, youŽll get errors like that you actualy have.

So if I understand PhoneSecure still wounŽt let you in, right ?
Did you install it on MMC or phonememory ?
If on MMC, remove it from your phone and get a card reader / writer for your pc and format it there.

denbro: No I couldn't dial out, I tried ure method and it kept cutting me of before I could choose yes to to it... A question tho, how much would i lose if i do that? ie: contacts, messages???

Leon: Your right I didn't read the instructions to Phonesecure 1.2, silly me... but i think that might be becuz i got 1.12? dunno, just a wild guess...

Yeah, I installed it to Phone so removing it should be a tad hard...
Thanx for the closing app hint, think u just found one of the causes to my trouble...

tzeonn: Yeah, I tried it and it wouldn't work... but u did give us an idea that temp solved my problem... as the phone boots up, I 'raced' phonesecure... by using the switcher on boot up I killed phonesecure before the alarm could go off, thus making it possible to uninstall... Thankyou heaps

I still want this kind of software on my phone, as it is great for security, but should i reinstall it or get the better version of v1.2???

Thanks again

Cheers to all...

THATS ODD..... because I have a similar problem and I did the same than you, and the God damn thing would reactivate itself after reboot, so, until I remembered the pasword I originally placed, I couldn't do nothing but to reset the whole phone......

Leon,

from what i understand here... he didn't uninstall phonesecure.. he uninstalled MiniGPS... but phonesecure went bezerk.

i don't think that's in Phonescure's instructions (not to uninstall MiniGPS while Phonesecure is running).

hmmm.. i think about using phonesecure but when I see these probs... I hesitate.

A failure why???
Even when it "crashed" on me that one AND ONLY time, it was due to my "missuse", and because I forgot the password...
I think it is a good APP, and the only problem is that we do not read/follow instructions sometimes....
Maybe, if instead of unisntalling the prog. we would have tryed to exit it (as it is always on in the backround), inputing the PWORD if necessary, and the uninstalling it, all this may have not happened, don't you think??
