I have bought a new FLASHER CABLE SET for 3310 .I am using windows 2000 , so i have also installed the USERPORT.

But when i connect th flasher cable to the the PC(even without connecting it to the phone) and run Rolis 4.77/4.78/4.79 and read Flash from the pohne, I get an error message :

Power OFF mobile first and then connect
(Or check cable : phone TX=low(0) expected but phone TX=High read)

Please help me out .This is my very first experience with flashing !!

For flashing, phone must be off! Use my tutorial in the Forum FAQ to show you how to flash like a pro!;)

i don'[t think you need userport as i'm on win2000
you should connect the cable to the LPT1 then connect the cable to your phone, then run the program.

NO , you need it if you are using ROLIS 4.77/4.78/4.79.
Rolis does not start if u don't run USER PORT. !!

no doubt about ur experience ! but if i don't run USER PORT, Rolis4.77 and 4.78 don't start. And Rolis 4.79 starts with a warning that i would need to install user port as i m using win2k.

what are you trying to do?
rolis and knok are used for flashing mainly
editing you would use other tools.
i don't know why rolis is not wokring on your win2000
maybe try updating your windows2000 from the official microsoft site.

Yes,

In bios you must select EPP+ECP.

Sometimes, I had problems, and when I removed it, it flashed. Some websites also say that you must remove them.

ECP will also work! Win2k NEEDS Userport as it is NT technology and the ports are guarded! Xp doesn't need Userport as Rolis was written for XP! In Rolis, change the selected LPT port to LPT2!? Mine runs on 2!;)

Chunkhead, I said it was ECP+EPP, because, if he wants to connecy a printer on his computer, it will work. Ofcourse ECP will work 100% for flashing.

I am now gonna try setting the port to LPT2. But there is one more option on that screen :

Filter Resource Method :

1. Try not to use an interrupt
2. Never Use an interrupt.
3. Use any interrupt assigned to the port.

As far as my knowledge goes, i my click the second one for flashing .

What have you veterans got to say?

1. try not to use an interrupt.

I tried that too !! even LPT2 is not working . Infact, i just checked , i get that error even when the cable is not connected to the PC !!!!! Strange !
