How to connect a mbus cable to the 3410

I've just discovered that the contacts for mbus and ground is located under the battery in the 3410. And, for using a mbus cable, the phone must be on, and have it's battery in to, so I can't just use the powersupply.

How do I connect my cable to this phone? Anyone here that have done this?
