Hi,

I just got my flashercables so I thought I'd give it a try.
I first made a backup of my phone using rollis (chunkhead's guide)
then I flashed en new mmc, ppm and eeprom to my phone
then I tried using knok but when I connected my phone and fired up knok I got the message "Phone not connected".
I tried using NokTool 1.8 and tried autosetup, this gave me the errormessages, COM2, 3, 4 are busy and then Phone not connected (or can't find phone)
So no luck using the mbus cable.
As I had no luck so far I thought it would be a good idea to flash my backup back to the phone but...
after approx. 80% I get this message:

Flash erasing error;
Must receive 91 00 FF,but received :FF FF FF
Check Vpp,Vbat voltage,phone type ...

I'm afraid my lovely phone is dead :(
I really hope someone can help me here...

I also tried to flash my 3210 and also here I had problem using NokTool and mbus
The reflash of the backup file went good here.

My OS is a fresh installed 98SE (especially for flashing :) )

thanks in advance.

hmmmmm, this is weird
I now succeeded in flashing the projects flash to my phone and after that I managed to reflash the backup with success
the problem of not beïng able to use the mbus stays.
Before I did any flashing the mbus cable worked ok because I was able to see that I had rom5 ( :( ) with noktool
I really want to put in new soft because I'm experiencing some probs (see other thread)

thanks so much in advance

First when You upgrading or downgrading Your phone You dont need to flash the eeprom area.../keep that in mind strongly!/ about Your data cable is it only Mbus cable or there is a manual switch on it?

Does the Mbus cable work on another machine? Also try changing Com ports on the back of your PC!?;)

I'm ashamed... ;)
I changed ports and now it works, the only bizarre thing is that I've connected it to com2 and NokTool finds a phone on com1:rolleyes:
A small question then, which is best, flash mcu and ppm or a whole flash (fubu) ?
In which cases should I use the mbuscable to update something (since I had some trouble when flashing mcu and ppm).

Thanks for solving the mbus already :)

Fubu's are much easier! I keep fubu's of all versions in folders! They are all clean and kept safe! I also modify them as Fubu's! I just make a copy and edit it! The trick is to ALWAYS have the clean ones safe!;)

OK then, will get me them fubu's for safe keeping.

Thanks a lot for all the help here.
