6100 software upgrade

hi, i was wondering if it's possible for me to upgrade the software of my 6100.... thing is i cant choose my msg alert tones from my folders in which i downloaded some tones.. also, i cant have different tones for different caller groups. pls help

i'm guessing you have software version 3.x or lower? I know for a fact that version 4.7 fixes that issue cos i have that version and you can have tones from you gallery for profiles and message tone.

As for upgrading it, i think you will need a flashing cable. The cheap ebay ones dont' flash the 6100 as far as i know because i have enquired about them.

I'm not sure if there are cheap 6100 flashing cables just yet, so unless you can get to a nokia care centre or you know somebody that can do it for you, that is pretty much the only way to upgrade the software.
