My 8310 shows a Configuration Key of 0010100000000000, which works OK on the UK Orange network. Trouble is I can’t get the phone to work on other networks, any ideas please?

sounds like you just need unlock codes, send your imei number
press *#06# you get 15 didgit number, you network you are on (not what you want to be on) eg uk vodafone, and phone type 8310.
will reply with codes to unlock

I have tried that but have since found out phone has been attempted 5 times! Looks like a cable unlock job? The other point just noticed is, when other sim cards are inserted they all come up with the correct provider but when dialling out they dont connect!

Thanks for your help Dogsbelly.

So any SIM will go in the phone and display the network provider? But when you dial out to any number, it sounds like a 'busy tone'?

Seems as though the phone is barred and reported lost or stolen on those networks...

Can you use any SIM?? Or does it say SIM not accepted?

Yes inderinderinder, looks that way! I have since found out the phone also connects on o2, this must mean in the past the phone has been barred on the other 3 networks? Cant understand why that has happened because 8310 has always been in my family!

Whichever SIM I put into the phone they always come up with the provider. When dialing out the dreaded 3 engaged tones can be heard! I therefore assume the other networks have barred the phone?

Does that sound correct or anyone have other views?

Thanks....
