Hey i just purchased a Nokia 3310 well actually 2 of them.
One with extras etc and the other with a problem.
Hope you could help and answer a few questions if its not too much trouble.

1 - The phone says contact service provider - Does this mean its the software and what can i do to fix it (I am in australia and have a data cable just need software and how to :) and what do u think it is ?)

2 - What is the difference between a Nokia 3310 and 3330 i wasnt sure what one to grab.

3 - Do the Blue Black and Purple LCD Screens look good on these phones with the white writing as i am thinking about modding both with blue lights and the blue lcd do u think it will look good ?

4 - What is better a USB Datacable or a COM Port data cable i have heard mixed reactions on both but the USB one is about $14 AUD dearer.

If anyone is on msn alot and knows alot about these phones please contact me and tell me a bit about these phones and flashing your phone etc and i will be enternally gratefull thankyou so much.

MSN And Email - [email protected]

Cheers

the software differences between 3310 and 3330 are:

-3330 has animated screen savers.
-3330 has wap.

the hardware difference is that 3310 has 2MB of flash and 3330 has 4MB.

Cheers. Looks like all your questions were answered mate :)

My 2p's worth on the cable - go for the COM port one. Cheaper and plenty of software around for it.
Again, screen colour is down to personal choice. Personally, I like green :D

"Contact Service" - see FAQ. Well known and well documented problem. Don't forget you'll probably need a flash cable in addition to the data one....
