I do have great news for all classic gaming freaks!
In a few weeks,i have finished programming mame for the
3650/7650 series of nokia.
It will be aviable on my new website.(It isn´t on the net yet !)
It´s an "emame" clone but!!!....you can use all original mame roms.
There i only one bad point,I am not shure if it works on the 7650 of nokia,because it will be about 2mb on the mobile(1.7mb till now).
The roms you can get on fileplanet.com/classic gaming/arcade.

So keep watching here at the end of September 2003

3650 has ~104mhz ARM CPU. not tons of horsepower, but then again, more than that pentuim-90 desktop i had a few years ago. :)

At first,hy everybody
for all Questions about the emulation--
1.)I´ve studied E-Technik in Wuppertal,on the B.U.G.H. and in Aachen
on the R.W.T.H.Be shure i know the architecture of the Arcade machines.It´s nearly the same as of the old 64000er,(Atari;comodore)
2.)The most emulators are okay,(hopefully)but...You have to write an Keyfile for some games about handling the controls,the config,and the memory.
3.)i´ve 360 "360" mame games.For the most games
it will be enough to use an universal keymap and Config. Only for such games as Gradius and other Games,who are using more than "2" keys you´l need an special config.(Aviable on my Website at the end of September.)it will will be packet in an *.sis file ,the emulator also is packet as an *.sis file.The speed of the games is an Question of memory and programming,that´s the reason for to need 2mb on the mobil.
And i do not working since Yersterday on it.There will be also an screenflipping for games like R-type and Gradius.
The using and everything else (screenshots) You´l find on my website(not yet).
Don´t worry You´l be know when i´ve finished ! :lol:

if we use a big (256MB) multimedia card, will this mame work with capcom and neogeo mames? Such games don't work well on low speed computers how is it possible to run on a cellphone?

At first hy,

i can´t say yes,because i mut trye it.Such games like star force working
o.k. but the system (Symbion) make´s it not easy.the Mobil is ok but the groundprogramm of the mobil is fixed by using mainly pictures and videos and sounds.For a good gaming i have to update some routines.
And i am rearly not shure if nokia will like it.
At the other side it is a question if the 3650/7650 is it worth.
At December T-Mobile brings out a new pocket PC including a camera like nokia.The price it will be about 400,-- euro with a mobilcontract.
As far as i know,it has a windows system based on win2000,and realy not low.It includes a 128 mb card(same cards as the 3650) and a good graphic device.Of course you can phone and using sms,mms!!!
By the way,you will can hear loud calings and games.
So that´s the facts.

Don´t worry,I´l do my work as I´ve been told!
The emulator is working on my 7650 but not with all games.
Soonly You´l be able to catch the A.G.N.(arcade goes nokia)
I renamed it because I programmed it.But you have to install a new
routine for the Symbion 7650\3650 nokia.(174kb)

If somebody of you don´t know how to use frodo,
here is a litle instruction:
At first you should have : e32frodo-0.5.0-s60.sis(unziped!!!!)Send it to your mobile.
When you have installed frodo,you go to "my Documents",open it and create a folder called frodo.The games you have downloaded must be unziped (on your PC),also the *.sid files.
You send yourself an E-mail with the games and the *.sid files.This e-mail you copy to the frodo-folder in "my documdents".
Let now run frodo.
The left button from the Joystick opens the menue.Go to "Launch Game" and push the Joybutton.After you selected a game,push ok.If you see the Game push the Joybutton again.
Now you see the Gamepic. .Push The Joybutton again.For all Letters you have to give in you use the --> # <--button.
All the Games you´ll find at :
-->http://www.c64unlimited.net/gameslist/games_g.htm are Working.
So let me know if it works for you.The most arcadegames can be found at this area.

Mame is a source-free emulator. You should release the source code with the emulator. Releasing it will allow more programmers optimize speed and compatibility.

Of course I do release the source code with the emulator.

To Frodo:

1.)If a game ask for an F-key you use the [ABC] key and the [1] key for >F1< f. e. and so on!

2.)The green callingbutton is in the emulation return!

3.)The [*+] button you can use as an secound shootbutton.

4.) If you push the [#] button in the game you can paused the game.

5.) Some games goes verry slowly sometimes in the emulation,open the helpmenue (right button from Joybutton) and close it.As you can see,the game has the old speed again!That clears the screenmem.

I think zxboy is free, it's only the game browser that you have to register. Does anyone know where i can find old spectrum games that are still copyrighted, i'm having trouble finding jet-pac, atic atak, pssst and trans am.

I just transfer the rom in E-Mame roms dir and when I scan for games the emulator speaks of there aren't any roms. What do you do for to run the roms???

scan for roms may take a few minures..

Try this, there are a huge list, quite boring (no download manager for massive downloads) but fast. Just 1 thing : you can download roms one per time, but not download limit. ;)

I will try to make a stripped-down version that works on the 3650 within the next couple of weeks. Making two separate distributions takes more time than making one, and for the moment I want to concentrate on improving things that do not work at all.

I also think that someone that actually has a 3650 might be better off doing this, since they could test things more easily. (My test cycle would basically be to upload a new version to the web site, and get comments by e-mail. I have typically tried the N-Gage version tens of times on my device before releasing it.)
