I've seen much people asking about the following subjects:

* How to remove the operator logo
* How to upload games/apps
* How to unlock the phone

What if the right people wrote a short FAQ and put it on top of the forum (sticky). I think it would be very helpful and decrease these repeating questions in the forum.

Good idea.Except there's a sticky already there.
The one that says read rules before posting. That tells people to search before asking, and most people can't be bothered.

Maybe I should read the rules first.... :) But I still think it's a better solution to have a small FAQ. I guess that alot of the newbies are too lazy to search the forum for the answer ;)

well no1 said, that lazy newbies get stuff posted more than once or twice... it's all in the forum, that's what the search function is for...

Anemo.....
Let's put it this way.If there was a sticky with an faq for stuff you mentioned, what's the chance that someone's gonna read it?Seems that hardly anyone reads the sticky that's there now. :-P

I wish someone would sort this smilie shit out too. Most annoying!

See what i mean.

Hi there :)
I was once a newbie (haven't we all been..?) and also did not bother with hours of reading first, i just hit that "new thread" thingy and posted my stupid question (can i flash a 5130 with a data cable?). As i got a reply prety quick, that got me more interested in the forum as such (initially i had only that one question!) and i started reading. Well, now have a look at my number of posts..... that evolved sort of. I did not ounly find at least 224 threads with "can i flash with a data cable" but also other stuff which answered questions that i did not even think of ("aha"-effect) and enabled me to answer questions of others, provided i knew the answer.
I agree that a sticky with "FAQ" on it would be greatly ignored, as most newbies are just like me..... posting their single questions, getting a reply and then being either happy or not, and eventually continue reading posts and finally become senior veterans, or whatever that's called now.
There is a great FAQ already available, which i am sure will be expanded more and more, and i think that there should be a function like when you click "new thread" it goes to hat FAQ first, you can use the "search" from there, and have to click a "Did this answer your question" YES or NO. Only if "NO" you may post the thred, which then of course have to be linked back automatically to the correct forum, which you originally came from. I know various websites that do like this, for example the Norton (www.norton.com or www.symantec.com) or Tripod, where i got several web accounts. You are kind of "forced" to check the FAQ before you can post, or in that case, mail a new question.
What i would alsdo like to see here, at best in EVERY forum that's got to deal with the issue, is a sub-forum regarding "games and ringtones". If i were a newbie now and wanted to know how to solve the light-bug in my 4.18 version of a 6610, i would be tired searching threads, as more than 50% are some sort of game- or ringtone requests or offers. I know that this particular question has been answered (i did it myself!) but where is that thread? Maybe on 118th position.... and on the way there i have to scroll over 60 "want this-and-that game or ringtone" threads, and may overlook the one i am actually searching for.
he "Search" button should be in alarming red, best is instead of a button to make it the size of an entire line, so 600x15 pixels, and flashing red-yellow. THAT will catch attention, and will make people use it. But of course i am not sure if that can be implemented in the forum software.
By the way, "smilies".... better use the "disable smilies in this post".... you still have text smilies then like this one :) such as in a SMS. After all it is a Nokia forum, and yet i don't know a Nokia that converts text smilies into icons :)
Kind regards.....
your Thanh

As the user before me said we already have a FAQ section.
This section will expand with tutorials every day.

but we cannot make faqs for every problem

for this you have "search" option at your disposal.

and if u are interested in adding some usefull tutorials to our FAQ section contact our moderator responsable there (i.e. mr. Bobl) and tell him your ideeas.
