Could someone help me unlock my TMobile Nokia 3650?

Network Carrier: TMobile
Location: Alabama, US

The phone was purchased through Amazon (shipped from Texas) -- I don't know if that would make a difference. The phone does have a 334 area code (Alabama).

Someone emailed me the codes to enter into the phone but they didn't work -- I tried 5 of the 7 codes they emailed me. Do I have to wait for a specific period of time before attempting again or will any further attempts lock my phone?

On several posts above I also noticed that the SIM card needs to be removed when entering the code. Is that correct?

But you phone is most likely to respond with "cannot undo restricition" as you say you have tried five codes, the limit is five... before a cable solution...

This is why people should not post all seven codes! It's not required and confuses people into using up their five tries by accident...!

You only get 5 tries so try Line 1 first
and then Line 7 if it doesn't work.

I called T-Mobile and they unlocked my Nokia 3650 for free! Call them and give them your serial number.
I'm not planning on switching to another network in the near future, but I do want the freedom when travelling internationally to use a local provider instead of paying $3 a minute in international roaming.

I talked to a Nokia customer representative and he said worldclass phones (triband phones) cannot be locked to a specific network. I'm not sure we were on the same page because then unlocking is not necessary. Has any of you tried putting a different SIM card in your 3650 or some other worldclass phone before trying to unlock the phone?

Take out your SIM card, then switch on the phone. It will prompt with "Insert SIM". Type in code 1 or 7 VERY carefully:

To get the "+" press the * key 2 times
To get the "p" press the * key 3 times
To get the "w" press the * key 4 times

The phone should say sim restriction off, and reboot, then prompt "Insert SIM". Switch it off, insert the SIM you want to use, and it should be fully working with signal.
