Hi

Sorry as you can tell I'm a bit of a newbie here but we all start somewhere! I was recently given one of these fantastic phones on an upgrade which was ideal for my holiday as I could take loads of pics. Since I've returned, I'm still very happy with it, but I've encountered a few flaws/problems, and wanted to know if there's any easy solutions?

1) When I select Video Recorder for either the left or right shortcut key, I get Sound Recorder instead. I understand this is to do with a faulty firmware version (I.ve got 2.50) - is there any way I can sort it out?

2) For some reason the ringtones seem really tinny, even on the maximum settings? Either I'm going deaf, or I'm still used to the non-polyphonic ones on my 8210! :D

3) I've installed several games on my phone by using SIS files, now a few of them don't work or I just want to get rid of them, but when I click the "C" button it says "Unable to delete folder item -------". Is there any way I can get rid of them? I've read a few other posts and the code *#7370# is mentioned, but I'm not sure what it does. Does it format the SIM as well as the MMC? I have Bluetooth and Nokia PC Suite for the 3650, and have transferred all my image files, and backed up all my contacts, is there anything else I should keep? :S

4) I bought a Bluetooth USB adapter, and got Nokia PC Suite for the 3650, although it works sometimes, I get a lot of crashes and problems, which I don't think are PC related? I create a Bluetooth Serial Connection that both the phone and the Bluetooth software recognise, but for some reason PC Suite won't recognise the phone or vice versa. Any ideas?

Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks ;)

What a mess!

I've got the same firmware version with you but I've not encountered
any of the problems you mention, so this should not be it.

Could you post a list of the programms you have installed on your phone?
Some programms conflict with each other sometimes, causing some of
the problems you mention.

Ans to:
1. No other way other than to do a upgrade. Problem solved with v3.13 & above.

2. The polyringtones used are normally midi files. U are not going deaf but tats the problem with midi but its small in size. U can use wave files too and there are much louder. Or u can install ringtone studio to edit the ringtone. Post again if u need mi to teach u how.

3. Maybe ur game was still on when u wanna remove it as u need to exit them totally. Try to restart ur phone and remove them. *#7370# is the code for 'hard format' ur phone. It will erase all apps and files on ur phone and restore it to factory settings. However, it will not touch ur sim and MMC.

4. I again have not heard any BT software crashing b4. I strongly believe tat its not the fault of ur phone. Inorder for ur PC to recongnize ur phone, u need to set the comPort it should connect to. This can be set with ur pcsuit mRouter. If u don know which comPort to use, select them all and after ur phone is connected, just look at ur mRouter and it will be stated there which one is being used.

Cheers~

Hi guys, thanks for the quick responses!

For 1) I guess I'll have to do without the video recorder as a shortcut!

I tried typing in *#7370# and it reset my phone memory to factory settings - BUT I must have installed a lot of the applications on my MMC as they're still there! I've managed to back up all my images and sound clips etc to my PC so I've just formatted the MMC to get rid of unwanted apps, and I'll reinstall the stuff I do want later!

BOSS - it would be great to be able to edit the ringtones - would I be able to make them louder? I'll try and find a few WAV ringtones tonight and see what they sound like when the phone rings later :)

One last thing, the damn phone won't ring when the keypad is locked! Any ideas on how to fix that?!

And while I'm here, could anyone point me in the direction of the best must-have applications for the 3650?

I have ETI-Camcorder now, and I think its brilliant? Are there any ways of jazzing up the standard camera software?

Thanks again :D

PS. Dorisall how do I get to the Manager bit you mentioned? Will save me formatting the MMC in the future!

go to MENU - > TOOLS -> MANAGER
Check Users Guide page 97 ( My guide has 2 girls and a man in some kind of a yellow wall )
