View Full Version : 3510i DAU
Hi,
I have a 3510i and a cable from MobileFun which is a COM port MBUS/FBUS cable for 3510. I use XP and used Userport to open RS232 port.
The problem is I still cannot see the phone with Oxygen 2.1.6. I tried LogoManager 1.2 it detects the phone but I cannot use any feature. I know LogoManager 1.2 does not support 3510i but I do not want to buy the new version or more software unless I'm sure it works. Is there a different cable for 3510 and 3510i???
I really hope someone can help me I have tried everything.

The version of oxygen phone manager that you hou have should recognise nokia 3510i. Test all the com ports (probably com1 or com2 should be the one) on the "connecction" at the options menu... if this doesn't work make sure that the pins of the cable fit perfect (some cables have a problem)
Now, about moby, try version 1.2.2. i use that one and works perfect...
good luck....
to be honest with you i had the same prob?
got a cable, but when i used MobiMB it would show the phone but not the java folders ect.
Got me mates comp to update card & reinstall for him as he too thick to do it lol and bingo it worked on his comp.
so there was def something wrong with my com ports.
reflashed the mobo bios as it`s a new mobo anyway, bingo everything works now.
so there was def something not right with my bios at that time.
not much help but a flash of the bios could fix your prob.

well about the cable many cabels for 3510/3510i has a slight prob you need to apply a "little" pressuere on the phone and it should de the trick how ever you need to apply until you are finshed with the phone, i used a simple book to apply the pressuere and it works for me :)

Hi.
I have a 3510i and use a cable adaptor I purchased from a Computer Fair, it does need sufficient pressure to lock on. But communicates well with my computer via Com1.
The Version of Oxygen Phone Manager you have looks to be incorrect. I have a registered version and the latest one shows as "Version 2.1 (Build 4.1)" did you buy yours from Oxygen Software?
Also, the O/S I use is Windows 98. It is not yet fully optimised to work with the 3510i.
Are you sure OPM II is able to work under Windows XP?
Just a few thoughts :-)

Have you still got the little bit of foam around the pins ? the part that connects to the phone.
If you have try removing the foam, this can stop the pins making contact with the phone, its quite common with 3510 and 3310 leads etc
I removed the foam piece around the pins. The pins are spring loaded anyway so that's ok. Still nothing. I think the next step is to use to try MobiMB.
and I will try a different version of Windows.
Oxygen say they support XP in 2.1.6 which incidentally is Version 2.1 Build 6. (I'm a s/w engineer so I understand build numbers.)
Does anyone else have problems with XP ?
If there was phone s/w for Linux I would definitely get it.
BTW everyone is really helpful here. Thank you for all your suggestions.:)
OK so I tried MobiMB version 1.25. It doesn't work. Do I need to use Userport every time I start my machine or just once.
Is their anyone else using XP out there who has gotten Oxygen or Mobi working with FBUS cable with 3510i on XP.
I am sick of this crap.
C
cL0h i`m useing xp m/fbus cable for 3510i.
at first it would not work.
read my first post why it would not work.
Then try it,only if you know what your doing though.
