Hello,
I have a nokia 3510 Orange which I thought I had unlocked as when other network simcards were placed in it, the network name would come up. But if you make a call to or from these simcards there is no signal and it does not connect you to answerphone. The phone works fine with Orange simcards.I tried putting an unlock code on the handset but it came up with the message that there was no retsrition present on it. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Hi Kamil.
I have a suspicion that Orange put some kind of Network Lock that differs from other Service Providers. The fact that you do not get a signal means that it does not find a Network.

However, probably more likely, you need to go to the "Settings/Phone settings/Network selection" and see whether you have "Automatic" or "Manual" set.

Do you mean by this that it is origanaly an Orange phone??
i.e. does the cover have an Orange badge on it???

I ask because (IF IT's NOT AND ORANGE HANDSET) form what you said it sounds like the handset is blacklisted, Orange are always slow to add blacklisted handsets to there list. I have seen many phones that are barred on all the other networks but still work (for a while) on Orange, then within a couple of weeks they get barred on Orange too.

Thank you for the feeback.
I have tried selecting networks both manually andautomatically but it makes no difference. The phone is Orange badged. If you try and phone a simcard that is in the phone you just hear a beep beep beep and are not even connected to answerphone or hear a network message.
