View Full Version : .wmv onto phone? HELP!!

Heres the deal, i can send avi's and mpg's to my phone through pc suite, and it auto converts them to .3gp and i play through realone, and all is merry and happy. BUT, i have buncha movies in .wmv format and i want them on my phone, and i downloaded a program to convert them to .avi (took me forever to find the program) and for some reason the file size jumped from 7mb...to 300mb!! So naturally i couldnt send it to my phone ya know...so does anyone know a good method to get .wmv movies onto my phone??

yes use helix producer9 to convert the into real format if not
tell me what movies they are and il do it for ya providing they arent massive files cos il have to download them

Just use the converter you already have. When you send the avi into your phone with pc suite it will change it to 3gp which has a much smaller file size. The file size of a clip you are sending in doesn't make much difference because it will be simplified anyway, it's really only the length of the clip that makes much difference (you get roughly 2mins of 3gp per 1mb).

yeah but he is on about wmv files it dosent convert wmv

He has converted the wmv to avi and pc suite does convert them. Try reading the posts properly.

i love yuppo's humour haha.

At yuppo: I would do that, but i dont want to sit around for an hour waiting for a 300mb file to compress...i realize itll prolly get cut down to like at most 10 mb, but it will take probably an hour...you yahoo group is very cool by the way, gotten buncha stuff from it.

thats why i said convert it to rm its better than 3gp and some times when you convert wmv to avi messes uo the lip sink

Fair enough.
Yeah rm's are better quality but i still prefer 3gps because i can play them in full screen with pv player.

after checking with helix program, i think it doesnt convert .rm to .3gp.

hope someone can help me on this convertion. thanks!
