Obviously new to this...What would be the purpose for "unlocking" your cellphone? What would this allow you to do?

Anyway just to give you an idea:

The purpose of unlocking a phone is that, it will enable you to use SIM cards from different kinds of network.

Hi.
From a personal point of view, my PAYG 3510i would not allow me to send or receive calls in some areas due to poor Network Coverage. I bought my phone to active as much as possible, so I decided to "Unlock" it from the original network so I could switch to any other that could be received.

My wife is still worried, as I have not yet had my cardiac condition sorted, at least now I can call 999 from at least one of the networks.
